We are saddened that one of our founding members, Lloyd Bildson, has died. He was instrumental in the founding of the NGCC.

Lloyd was a long-time curler and curled at various clubs in the area, including Wi******er while he was working and, more recently, in Prescott after his retirement. Lloyd was instrumental in the formation of the Kemptville and District Curling Association. The group began in 1989, and although there was no club to call "home", they were able to rent ice to play on Sunday afternoons. At the same time, Lloyd and the other founders began fundraising in hopes of eventually building their own curling club. Eventually, the group established the NGCC at its current location in 2005.

Lloyd had a very competitive spirit and loved to win, and we thank him for helping create the organization we cherish today.

A celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn Reception Centre, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, Ontario, on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 3:00pm.
