The U18C Storm team kicked off the season with their first gold medal at this past weekend’s 14th Annual Markham Starsfest tournament. The girls didn’t let up despite a challenging final game and managed a win against the tournament’s undefeated team. Congratulations to the players and coaches for their hard work and perseverance!

🏒 CAGE HANG — LET'S GET IT RIGHT! 🏒

As we head into the 2026–2027 season, proper helmet and cage fit will be a major equipment-safety focus.

Parents & players — please take a few seconds to check your helmet before every ice time!

🚨 Remember:
• The cage must sit INSIDE the J-clips — not on top or outside them.
• The chin cup should sit snugly against the chin — not dangling below the jaw.
• All straps, snaps and hardware must be properly adjusted, fastened and functional.
• No tape or modified straps to hold equipment in place.

Officials will be enforcing Hockey Canada Rule 3.6 – Protective Equipment.

Players with improperly fitted or non-compliant equipment may be required to leave the ice immediately to correct the issue. Failure to correct the problem can result in a 2-minute minor penalty for illegal equipment, with additional penalties possible for persistent refusal to comply.

A proper fit isn't just about avoiding a penalty — it's about protecting our players.

Back to the Rink!!

KDMHA is in full swing to get our Royals and Storm players back on the ice. We have received a positive number of registrations for new and returning players this season.

Some age levels have commenced conditioning camps with others still to start in order to get our players back on the ice and ready for the season.

Our convenors have been working hard to send information by email to all registered players in their allocated age groups. If you have not received an email from your convenor, then please check your spam/junk folder.

Still no information via email? please follow the link below to find your appropriate convenor's email aligned to your youth players age group and season team (Royals or Storm) and contact them direct.

Hockey evaluators still needed to support Try outs and Sort outs for KDMHA hockey teams.

If you have hockey experience and want to support community youth sports making sure each and every player has the best season possible in being aligned to their ability and level whether that be on a representative or house team then click the link and sign up to support.

Mark your Calendars and register now! This will be our first clinic of the season.

We are planning a Conditioning Goalie Clinic to get our Royals and Storm Goalies on the ice and have arranged to have Pivotal Sports Development coming on Wednesday, August 26th! This clinic will focus on conditioning specifically, which will see more skating than the average clinic and the goalies seeing less shots overall.
