โจ Please read in preparation for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th...
It is not enough just to say "I support Indigenous Peoples" on September 30th โ we must show it through our actions every day of the year:
๐ We read stories written by our Indigenous Elders of their experiences in residential schools and as victims of abuse, hate crimes and discrimination.
๐งก We purchase an orange t-shirt from a verified Indigenous retailer (NOT Amazon) in recognition of the missing and stolen children by residential schools.
โค๏ธ We recognize Red Dress Day, raising awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, which is a disproportionately affected demographic.
๐ฉท We buy from Indigenous-owned small businesses all year 'round โ see below for some of our favourite products ๐
๐ We attend the Summer Solstice in Ottawa and Kemptville-based workshops that celebrate all of the many colourful Indigenous cultures known to our country, across tribes and Provinces.
We, the owners of Boss Thai Boxing, encourage our community to recognize Truth and Reconciliation today and every day of the year. Here are some resources to
