KSC coaches awarded the 2026 Core Values "Spirit" Award to Gwen at our banquet last week. Gwendolyn demonstrated the values the coaches deem most important in a developing skater: respect, happy for others success, passion to learn, love of skating, and just a genuine delight to coach. Gwen was always the first to cheer another skater on, to show compassion to others, and was so excited just to be on the ice. Congratulations Gwendolyn, we love watching your spirit shine on the ice!

Ali was awarded the KSC Star 3+ Skater of the Year award by the coaches. She demonstrated dedication, hard work, enthusiasm to learn new skills (especially cool spins!), was respectful of other skaters, and was a PA the coaches could count on. Ali was the first on the ice every session, ready to learn and have fun with her skating friends. Congratulations Ali, this award was well deserved!

The 2026 KSC Star 2 Skater of the Year award went to Dayton. All the coaches loved working with her. She took her lessons and training time seriously, but was always cheerful, respectful of other skaters, worked hard on improving her skills all season long. She also started to PA this season, and was an absolute 'rock star' with the PreCan skaters. Patient, a sense of fun, and someone the coaches could rely on. Congratulations Dayton!

KSC was proud to award Clara the Star 1 Skater of the Year. Clara showed up consistently to every lesson with enthusiasm, passion, and a true love of skating. She set goals and challenged herself to meet them. All the KSC coaches agree that coaching her was a pleasure all season. Congratulations Clara!

KSC awarded a new award to Kalina at our 2026 banquet. This award, Most Dedicated PA Award, was given to Kalina to recognize her efforts every Canskate session. She would set up sessions, take down sessions, put away the toys, aids, and name tags without being asked. She would also cheerfully go to any Canskate group she was assigned to, helped with warm up and cool down. All the coaches could count on Kalina every week, regardless of what was asked of her. Congratulations!

KSC 2026 Canskater of the Year was awarded to Ryla. Ryla demonstrated a sense of joy for skating, a sponge to learn every week, successful progression through multiple stage badges. Ryla's liveliness and would try anything new her coaches asked of her. Congratulations Ryla!

2026 KSC Program Assistant Leadership Award goes to Eva. This award recognizes her contribution to our Canskate program. Our PA’s are integral to its success. Eva consistently demonstrates initiative, patience, takes ownership of tasks without being asked, works with junior PA’s to guide, and shows maturity under sometimes hectic and fast changing Canskate environment. Congratulations Eva! Your leadership contribution to the delivery of our very busy Canskate sessions possible. Thank you.
