Stay Safe on the Courts This Summer!
With this incredibly hot weather upon us, we'd like to remind everyone to take a few extra precautions before heading out to play.
Extreme heat can increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related illness, even during recreational matches. Please take a moment to review our heat safety infographic before your next game.
A few simple reminders:
- Bring a water bottle to the court and drink regularly.
- Wear light-coloured, breathable clothing and a hat or visor.
- Take breaks in the shade whenever possible.
- Consider playing during the cooler parts of the day.
- Watch out for your fellow players and don't ignore signs that someone may be struggling with the heat.
- We are fortunate enough to have the splash pad just a short walk away - if you find yourself getting too hot, it's a quick and accessible way to cool down.
If you or another player develops confusion, slurred speech, stops sweating, or loses consciousness, call 911 immediately.
Let's all do our part to keep our tennis community safe while enjoying the game we love.
Have fun, stay hydrated, and we'll see you on the courts!
