I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my fellow Ottawa Valley 5 pin bowlers, men, women and seniors, good luck tomorrow in smith's falls in the first half of Ontario Open and Senior Open Zone X Qualifying. I would have loved to have been there to compete with you but as many of you know it has been an extremely difficult 2nd half of 2023 for my family and I. It has continued into my bowling season so I will take this year off and I look forward to competing with you next year. I hope to pop in next Sunday and say hi to you all. Good bowling.

So we've all been looking for some good news to get rid of this covid 19 talk. Well we got it last night in the Tuesday Night Men's League. My long time friend and bowling opponent Cory Coffell had himself a hell of a night. He started with a 312, decided that wasn't good enough and started the 2nd game with 9 strikes in a row, finishing with a 387. So a 699 double...a good triple for a lot of us. He finished the night with a 275 for 974 triple. A headpin in the 10th frame of the 3rd game cost him a 1000 triple. An outstanding night Cory. Be proud of that my friend.

Good morning bowlers. We know it has been a crazy almost 6 months since some of us have been in a bowling alley since covid 19 pandemic started, but the new season is upon us. As my fellow bowlers in the Tuesday night mens league know, we have to do 2 shifts this year, 645 and 845 or so alternating each week, and we start next Tuesday September 8 with the money night for last year and a prebowl night so everybody gets a set banked. Look forward to seeing everybody next week. Now we are down 10 bowlers as we only have 30 of a possible 40 so I am throwing it out there to any bowlers interested, especially all of my Ottawa male bowling friends who don't have a league to bowl in to shoot me a message if you are interested. We would love to have you. We need 2 teams of 5.

For anybody not in my Facebook message the last couple of days Kemptville Bowl has decided to close for this week and continue monitoring on a week by week basis. This coronavirus is hitting everybody in some way, shape or form. Be well and look after your families and we will see you all soon.

Just a reminder to all competitive bowlers, especially local Kemptville bowlers, that the Open and Senior Open qualifying begins this sunday in Orleans 8:00 am registration, 9:00 we start bowling. The Open bowlers bowl 10 games this Sunday followed by 10 games the following Sunday in Smith's Falls; the senior bowlers do 5 this Sunday and 5 the following Sunday. The cost is $200 dollars for the 20 games. Contact me if you are interested or would like more information. Also, if you can't bowl but would like to support the tourney I have raffle sheets $5 for a sheet of 8 entries. 4 prizes to be drawn on December 8. Let me know if you are interested in those as well.

Great bowling Cory Alexander. Glad I was there to see it.

Well we almost the first perfect game in league play on Tuesday night. Cory Coffell had the first nine strikes and with the entire bowling alley watching him he got the first one in the 10th, the 2nd one and as you can see by the scoreboard the right corner pin did not cooperate on the 3rd ball and he ended up with 448, to go with a nice 881 triple. Great game Cory Alexander and a great night.
