RSB Lifestyle Fitness Trainer: Davit Dzavashvil

l began my athletic career at six. At thirteen, l was introduced to the sport of boxing, a sport which was to become my focus.

From age six to twelve l participated in an elite junior soccer league in Georgia (formerly a satellite of the USSR). l became a National Junior Champion in the Super lightweight class at 14, and would win this competition two more times. At eighteen, l moved to Spain and began my semi-professional career. l moved on to fight professionally with a winning record of 2-2-1. In 2009, l moved to Can

ada and started to train at Sugar Ray's Boxing gym in Vancouver. l signed a professional contract to fights in the BC Championship. l was forced, however, to give up my professional fighting career due to a shoulder trauma. I then became the main trainer at Sugar Rays Boxing gym that served both professional and amateur boxers. Sugar Rays is one of the largest gyms in North America (over 2,000 members). As well, l coached at Steve Nash Fitness World as a boxing trainer. Lastly, l had an elite clientele of individuals, for whom l would customize training sessions. Trainer:

My passion for sport started very early in life. When I was seven years old, I joined Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club. At an early age, I enjoyed quite a bit of success. I was provincial age-group champion for 10 and under, 11 and 12, and then 13 and 14 year old girls. I held the provincial age-group record in 200 meter back and this record wasn’t broken for almost 15 years. I was also ranked number one in Canada in 100 meter and 200 meter backstroke in age-group standings and was on the Olympic tracking program. In 1993, I was awarded the Prince Rupert Athlete of the year. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury cut my swimming career short. While at the University of British Columbia, I competed in several sprint triathlons and participated in as many sporting events I could get my hands on. I rowed on the university recreation team and was on a winning team for Storm the Wall, one of the largest intramural events in North America. I also played on the women’s varsity rugby team. After finishing university, I was constantly searching for a sport I could play that would inspire a desire to play hard again. Two years ago, I joined Sugar Ray’s Boxing gym in Vancouver. I immediately fell in love with the sport. I was so impressed with the fitness level and technique required to be a good boxer. I started boxing daily and have made it a part of my life ever since. What we believe:

We believe that everyone has the chance to become physically fit and change their lives in the process. Most important, the atmosphere in the gym should not be boring but should reflect one of an energized spirit. Working out should be something you look forward to and get excited about not something you dread.

A MONTH OF AB TRAINING FOR $9.99

As humans we are meant to help each other. It should be the main purpose in our lives - how to be a servant of many. If you look very closely at our lives we ALL serve each other in many different areas.
We recently received a video clip, that was taken in my home country (Georgia). It broke my heart and I teared up. It showed some Georgian families going through toughest times due to COVID-19. One family stood out - a single mom of 4 young kids is trying to hustle to keep up with their education and sports activities. They live in a remote village with no access to the internet. She struggles with very limited resources to give her children access to they can continue their education. Literally, she has one phone and 1 hour worth of internet for all 4 children, so she can take a pic after they are done their homework to send her a pic to their teacher.
NO internet.
No technology (computer, tablet, iPod)
No school materials (books, notebooks)
No gym equipment (runners, sports wear)

The attachment of their video clip is here to see their lives in a rural part of area.

▶️ After all l wanted to be one of those people, who can step forward and show feelings & support towards these Georgian families in whom I see so much of myself and my family history.
One little boy I can’t get out of my head. He is an aspiring little athlete with mom and three other siblings and they have absolutely nothing. Seeing him reminds me of myself. Once upon a time that little man was me. I feel so close him.

We designed a month long core training program will get you sleek abs. This program has been designed with that Georgian family in mind. All proceeds will go to support Georgian families struggling to survive during this time.

DM for more details.

The temporary closure of schools and patchy internet access in parts of the country are exacerbating education inequalities
