We’re excited to reintroduce our Team Member Tuesday series, where you can get to know the amazing people behind the Gallagher’s Canyon experience. This month, meet Dugan Smith!
*What is your job title?
Golf Shop Sales Assistant
*How long have you worked at Gallagher’s Canyon?
2 months.
*What is your favorite part about working at Gallagher’s?
Getting to know the members and working with a great team.
*What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
I’m a big hiker, which is one of the reasons I came to Canada. The trails here definitely haven’t disappointed.
*Do you have a background in golf? If not, what are your career goals/plans? What did you do before this?
I grew up in Scotland, so I’ve been playing golf from a young age. Before coming to Gallagher’s, I worked at Jacks Point Golf Course in New Zealand. I love being able to travel the world while working in the golf industry.
*Are you from Kelowna? If not, what brought you here / what brought you to Gallagher’s?
I’m from Scotland, but I worked with one of the Associate Golf Professionals here, Brandon Smith, in New Zealand. He spoke highly of Gallagher’s Canyon and Kelowna, so I decided to come over for the summer season—and I’m very happy I did.
*Do you take advantage of the golf and perks here at Gallagher’s?
Absolutely. I make the most of the perks—I play golf about three times a week and love using the practice facility.
