How soon can I ease back into fitness? For vaginal births, it is recommended that you should let fatigue be your guide. For most women, this is usually 4 weeks+. In addition, your lochia (postpartum bleeding) should be finished. For Casearean Births, women should be at least 6 weeks postpartum and have medical clearance from their doctors
What will my baby/child be doing during class? Some babies will be asleep, some will be content in their carriers, others will be stretching out on the mat/towel and others might be in mom's arms. Our classes are designed to incorporate the baby into the workout by using the baby’s weight as resistance while at the same time strengthening the mommy/baby bond. Some mother’s feel more comfortable laying their babies on the mats and using our free weights instead of their baby which is also perfectly acceptable. Babies are highly curious and the activity in the class of the other moms and babies tends to keep the baby content. For older babies or young children a play area can be set up for them to play with balls, mats or toys. Children of any age are welcome we just ask that Moms do keep an eye on their own child and respect that not everyone (especially mothers with young/new babies) likes their own matted space invaded. Please feel free to bring any toy, play thing, bumbo, jumper, etc that you feel will keep your little one entertained. What if my baby needs to feed during the class? We work around our babies’ schedule so feeding, diaper changing, caring for our baby goes on throughout the class. We feel this is a major advantage for new mothers in that we can provide a safe and accepting environment for yourself and your baby where everyone else in the class can understand and relate that the baby’s needs come first. It has been years since I have exercised and I am really out of shape. Will I have trouble keeping up? This is the perfect program for you! All of our classes are postnatal, laidback and easy to follow. Participants are encouraged to work at their or pace and when needed, water breaks and “rests” are encouraged. The instructor will demonstrate various ways to increase/decrease the intensity of the workout to fit every fitness level from beginner to elite! What should I wear/bring? Please feel free to wear whatever is most comfortable for you to work out in but it is recommended to wear a well-fitting, supportive sports bra. You may participate in socks or barefoot as we workout on a matted area and shoes are not allowed for hygiene reasons. Please bring a yoga mat or towel to place over the mats, water bottle and all of your babys’ needs. If you do not have a yoga mat we would be happy to supply you with one for the class! What if I am late for class? If for any reason you are late for class please still come in! You will not be a distraction in any way and it is encouraged to participate for any length of time. If you have any questions please contact us at your convenience. Phone/Text/Email.
