May Long - Distance Regatta weekend! A first for KCKC! We had sunshine, rain and wind! We had coffee, food and fun. Athletes, coaches, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and volunteers all showed up to experience our first long distance weekend with a portage. It truly was a challenge in many ways! Thanks to our community we hope to have some qualifiers for The world Marathon Regatta in Argentina.

Today marks the portage of the Kamloops spring marathon regatta, on our newly built portage. It truly was a team event to build, finish, practice, adjust the beautiful race course.

As the Kamloops Canoe Kayak Club, we have completed the first regatta of the 2026 season and achieved many successful results.
The results we achieved as a team are a sign that we will achieve even better results in the future, and we congratulate all the athletes who participated.

🐢 KBIA Turtle River Race – Community Support 🛶

The Kamloops Brain Injury Association is hosting their annual Turtle River Race on Sunday, May 3rd at Riverside Park — a fun and meaningful fundraiser supporting local brain injury survivors. 💙

KCKC is proud to support this great community event!
While many of our athletes will be away competing at our Season Opener race, we encourage any members who are in town to get involved and volunteer on the water.

🚣 Volunteer Role:
Help collect hundreds of floating turtles from the river using canoes or kayaks after each race — a fun, easy-paced way to give back!

⏰ Timing:
12:00 PM start | On-water support at 1 PM & 2 PM

This is a great opportunity to represent our paddling community and support an important cause.
