Let’s talk about something I don’t talk about much which is nutrition, for one my scope of practice doesn’t allow for Personal trainers to give nutrition advice and to leave that for dietitians who specialize specifically on individual nutritional needs. I can however speak on my experiences with nutrition as I’ve tried almost every diet out there and for me the worse one I ever followed was a high fat high protein diet, holy hell I felt sick and like garbage but the food tasted great. Another one was high carb less protein less fat, with this I felt really tired sluggish and my mind was in a constant fog. I can go on with ridiculous diets I tried but for me I favor a high protein less carbs and even less fat nutritional plan. I do take Suplements which I will get into in another post. I don’t takes steroids or HGH but for those that ask thank you so much for the compliment. I find clean eating works well for me with lots of vegetables and protein, I do eat enough carbs for energy as well as fats. I do count calories every once in a while as I can go overboard on certain foods upping my fat intake really damn high, I try to be oblivious to it but my athletic output suffers. Keeping accountability on what your eating can help you modify what works for you as everyone is so different. There is no one generalized super diet that works for everyone you need to find what works for you based on your goals and limitations. A dietitian can help with that.It’s important for me to feel light and be energetic especially as I get older and nutrition is a big factor in this I can’t ignore and no one should. The old adage “you are what you eat holds true’. Make good nutrition part of your healthy lifestyle regime to live a long, strong healthy life.
