🇨🇦 GVA on the international stage!

Global Volleyball Academy is proud to recognize our Founder & Technical Director, Behlül Yavaşgel, who is currently serving as an Assistant Coach with Canada’s Women’s U23 National Team.

After weeks of preparation in Vancouver, Team Canada is getting ready to compete at the U23 Pan American Cup.

We’re proud to see GVA represented at the international level and excited for Behlül to continue bringing national-team experience, ideas, and standards back to our athletes and volleyball community in Kamloops.

We had some outstanding athletes and coaches representing Global Volleyball Academy at the Volleyball BC Beach Provincial Championships this weekend!

🥉 Avery Bahnsen & Ella Simpson – Bronze Medal (U16)
🥈 Odin Grimm & Gavin Johnson – Silver Medal (U18)

I also want to take a moment to recognize two very special people in our program.

Avery Bahnsen has not missed a single GVA training in the past three years. It is no coincidence that she has also been our Points Champion three years in a row. Her commitment, work ethic, and consistency are second to none, and we're incredibly proud of everything she has accomplished.

A huge thank you as well to Gavin Johnson, who took full charge of the GVA program while I have been away coaching with Team Canada NextGen in Vancouver. He successfully ran the program over the past two weeks and did an outstanding job. Your leadership and professionalism have meant a lot.

Odin Grimm has also been a valuable member of our coaching staff, and it has been fantastic to see him earn a Provincial silver medal alongside Gavin.

These athletes aren't just leaders on the court—they're leaders off the court as well. They represent everything we strive to build at GVA through their dedication, character, and passion for the game.

Congratulations to all four of you on bringing home Provincial hardware. We couldn't be prouder.

3rd Annual KBVC Youth Beach Volleyball Tournament – Final Standings 🏐

What an incredible day of beach volleyball! Congratulations to all of the athletes who competed in our 3rd Annual KBVC Youth Beach Volleyball Tournament. It was a fantastic day filled with great sportsmanship, determination, and high-level competition.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers Rida, Avery, and Nikki for helping with setup, takedown, and making sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.

On a personal note, I truly believe the level of volleyball in both age categories was the highest it has ever been in the three years we've hosted this tournament. I couldn't be prouder of every athlete who stepped onto the sand today. The effort, determination, and willingness to fight for every ball were incredible to watch. You should all be proud of yourselves. Keep working hard, keep believing in yourselves, and continue raising the standard of beach volleyball in our community.

Thank you to all the players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and supporters for making our 3rd Annual KBVC Youth Beach Volleyball Tournament such a memorable event.
