As the Kamloops Canoe and Kayak Club, we participated in the National Team Trials 2 held in Montreal from June 12–14, 2026, with a total of four athletes.

U18 Women’s Kayak: Leilani Vanderydt
U18 Men’s Kayak: Damian Hickey
U21 Men’s Kayak: Harris Hunter
U21 Men’s Kayak: Douglas Hunter

After all the hard work and dedication, the athletes delivered outstanding performances that truly reflected the results of their training.

According to the official CKC results, our athletes Harris Hunter and Damian Hickey have qualified for the National Team.

Success at this level isn’t built in a single race. It’s built through dedication, resilience, and countless hours of training when nobody is watching.

Next week, four Kamloops Canoe & Kayak Club athletes will travel to Montreal to compete at National Team Trials #2, where Canada’s top paddlers will battle for national team opportunities.

They have put in the work. They have embraced the challenge. They are ready.

On behalf of the entire KCKC community, we wish our athletes the very best as they take the next step in their paddling journey.

Represent Kamloops with pride. Race with courage. Leave it all on the water.
