What a tournament! Great soccer, lots of surprises, a few prizes, great weather, and many great memories. All the tournament results are now posted as official on our website at https://www.southdundasunited.ca/2026-world-cup-results/.

Now for some awards. The tournament Golden Boot awards go to: Bennett Atlookan - U5 Canada (19 goals!); Teddy Hall - U7 Senegal (7 goals); Sebastien Nault - U9 Netherlands (9 goals); Lucas Gemperle - U11 Paraguay AND Jackson Johnston - U11 New Zealand (7 goals each); Andrew Claxton - U14 Czechia (3 goals); and Chase Alger – U18 Panama (5 goals).

Thank you all for being part of the 2026 Season. This season, including the tournament, 410 youth players played on 36 teams across six leagues. There were 65 volunteer coaches, 29 referees, six canteen volunteers, and 15 other volunteers involved with setup, clean up, and other duties. Thank you to everyone for their help to make this season possible.

Can you believe this is our 30th season and our 25th World Cup? Where does the time go? For some of us involved, we started when those numbers were just single digits. Okay enough nostalgia. Time for some football!

Day 2 kicks off at 8am this morning. U18s play at 8am, U5, U11, and U9s at 9am, U7s at 9:45am, and U14s at 10am.

The canteen is open until we run out of things to sell. The Morrisburg & District Lions Club will be on site with food available.

Lots of great football/soccer being played today. Stay cool, hydrate, and have fun today!

Well! That was quite the opening day of our tournament. A total of 14 matches played, lots of great soccer.

A big thank you to our set up crew Friday for getting things ready for the tournament. Thank you to Aiden, Alex, David, Ethan, and Josh for doing everything from lining fields, getting ball bags ready, moving a set of bleachers, and so much more. Thank you also to Isabell and Jill for getting the prize bins ready for the tournament last week.

And also a big shout out to our canteen volunteers Charleigh, Elliott, Paige, and Ruth for their help this season and so far in the tournament.

Day Two of our 25th annual World Cup Tournament starts at 8am Saturday morning. With another 46 soccer matches between 8am and 4pm. Lots of great soccer going on here in South Dundas. Stay cool, hydrated, and have lots of fun! (Which is the most important part of the game!)

Now that that "other" World Cup is over, it's time for our World Cup tournament. The schedules are now set and have been sent to families via email and through Teamlinkt. There will be another Mariner Minute sent sometime Tuesday or Wednesday with information on the tournament as well. If you did not see an email, check your spam/junk mail folder in your email as sometimes the emails to there. Or log on to the Teamlinkt App to get all your schedules.

Tournament Update - all matches are now in Teamlinkt. Check your email or the app for the schedule. Also, because the Take One for the Team fundraiser failed to reach even half of the goal, the fundraiser is cancelled. Donors will receive a refund for what they spent. Thank you to those individuals who did donate.
