We love to run.

We run as a a family.

We play sports that involve running.

We run on vacation.

We coach, preach and teach all physiological benefits to cardiovascular fitness and strength/power training to improve running mechanics, running economy and longevity in sport.

And we get to do it again on Saturday with at THE GYM!!!

Sooooo proud of these kids 👧🏼

-Showing up for this tough ass sport , in freezing temperatures 🥶

-Giving their all 💯 of the time, throwing down like rockets 🚀

- always Staying positive and supportive in race mode, performing like tiny rockstars 🤘🏻and cheering on team mates ✨

won the spirit of the games award- a huge feat for these tiny humans!! A team of 7 were recognised amongst teams of 57 for all the aforementioned things!

Holding the torch to clients dreams 🧚‍♀️

This feels like a full circle moment ♾️

My dear friend and client completed her first half marathon after 3 years of solid commitment to training; we’ve rehabbed injuries and just kept plugging away towards healthy long term goals!!

And she is running right where started!! 🥲

Canmore Nordic centre was the birthplace of my athlete devo days, and the peak of my strength training career 🌄🏆

AND some of my OG clients were none other then the owners of - the very race Allison just crushed!! 🧼
I was lucky enough to even do the group warm up for this very special female event between my two pregnancies!!!

ADDUCTORS (aka your groin muscles) —

Love to train them… and the first response is often: “Whoa, that feels tight.”

👉 Tight and weak often go hand in hand…. 📚 Research snippet: A systematic review (Serner et al., BJSM, 2015) found that athletes with adductor strength imbalances were 4x more likely to sustain groin injuries — especially in sports that require cutting and direction changes

So why do adductors matter so much?

These muscles are essential for:
🔬 Pelvic control – deceleration, cutting, and changing direction are all supported when strong adductors work in beautiful symphonies with the glutes

🔬 Hip stabilization – the adductors share fascial and bony attachments with the pelvic floor and deep hip musculature, offering major support for the core and facilitating efficient force transfer through the kinetic chain

Here’s what we do:

1️⃣ Stretch them – create access to range
💡 Try a big inhale in your stretch and explore your deepest available position with breath.
🧠 Think: pic 1
* Adductor rockbacks for early-sesh dynamic mobility x 10 breaths/leg

2️⃣ Load them – build strength within that new range
💡 Training under load in lengthened positions is key for long-term strength and mobility gains.
🧠 Think: pic 2 -4
* Bent-knee bench lateral shifting for controlled loading

* Copenhagen planks for isometric strength & tendon health

3️⃣ Move laterally with speed – apply that strength to the real world
💡 We’re designed to move in all directions — whether it’s cutting on a field or sidestepping on a crowded sidewalk.

JUMP TRAINING = OUR SPECIAL SAUCE 🧠💥

It’s not just about getting sweaty — jumping is POWER training at its finest. 🚀

✨ It’s easy to implement- anywhere around the world 🌏

And jumping has all sorts of gains:

🔹 Explosive POWER (Force x speed - hello, athleticism! See pics 1&2)

🔹 Joint resilience + bone density (lifelong durability 🦴 see pic 3- the yielding property of jump work is 👌🏻more to come on that!!)

🔹 Energy system tuning — when programmed right, we build both aerobic + anaerobic capacity for better muscle contractions, metabolic energy usage, and cardiovascular health 💓 see pic 4!! Heart rate response at its finest!!

Jumping teaches your body how to move FAST, how to ABSORB force (key in falls prevention), and it expresses our strength with a symphony of grace and coordination — all things we need whether we’re chasing athletic goals or chasing kids.

Pull Up. Chin Up. Hang Out. 💪🏼

What’s the difference?

Pull-ups = overhand (pronated) grip → typically harder due to wider grip which is a mechanical disadvantage - with your arms being further away from your centre of mass- it becomes much harder- requiring tonnes of lats with less help from biceps.

Chin-ups = underhand (supinated) grip → biceps pitch in + narrower grip = mechanical advantagous making pulling bodyweight more accessible (featured here on most of these amazing women’s piccies 📸)

But honestly? Both build serious pulling strength.

Pull-ups are (IMO) the QUEEN of upper body lifts. 👑

They demand patience, persistence and repetition.

No matter which grip you choose—just get under the bar.

Hang. Hold. Pull. Do it all. And do it often. You are stronger then you think 💭
