🥎❤️ That’s a wrap on our U15 Girls season! ❤️🥎

What a season it’s been.

🥈 Silver at the Constable William Moss Memorial Tournament
🥈 Silver at the NL Summer Games
🥇 Gold at the U15 Fastpitch Provincials
🥎 And plenty of memories made at Slopitch Provincials

There was a little bit of everything this season — big wins, tough losses, great plays, hard lessons and a whole lot of laughs.

Softball has a way of teaching lessons that go well beyond the field. You won’t make every play, but you always get to decide what you do on the next one. Learn from it, reset and keep going.

More importantly, we hope these girls leave the season understanding that being a good teammate matters. Support each other, celebrate each other’s successes, show respect, take responsibility when you get it wrong and be someone others are glad to have in their dugout. Those lessons matter long after the cleats come off.

A very special thank you to Emily Jackman, who stepped up when we needed her so we could compete at Provincials. At only U11, she jumped in with the U15 girls and didn’t miss a beat. She fit right in, held her own and was a great addition to our team when we needed her most. Thank you, Emily! ❤️🥎

And a special goodbye to Sophie, Aliya and Brooke as they move on to U17 next season. We wish you nothing but the best and hope you carry some great memories from this team with you. ❤️

The medals are pretty great, but watching this group grow together was even better.

🥎❤️ A TOUGH END TO A GREAT WEEKEND. ❤️🥎

This one was a battle and stayed close right through to the 6th inning. Gander had been piling up runs all weekend, but CBC made them work for everything, keeping a dangerous lineup in check for most of the game.

Gander found some breathing room late and took the 8–3 win, bringing CBC’s run to an end in the semi-final.

🌟 Maria Dalton was named Player of the Game, sure-handed at second base and making the plays when the ball came her way.

Not the ending we wanted, but plenty to be proud of. The girls battled their way to the final four and went toe-to-toe with a strong Gander squad when it mattered.

🥎🔥 ONE RUN. SEVEN INNINGS. ZERO ROOM TO COAST. 🔥🥎

This one could have gone either way. Every time Botwood’s bats heated up, CBC answered with some heat of our own. Back and forth, inning after inning, neither team was interested in giving this one away.

There was also plenty of commentary coming from around the diamond — apparently the strike zone, the dress code and just about everything else were open for discussion. 😏 But while some were busy making calls, our girls stayed busy making plays.

And nobody covered more ground than Khloe Flynn at rover. She was tracking them down, making big catches and robbing hits before they could turn into runs. Apparently “rover” was less of a position and more of a warning — if it was in the neighbourhood, Khloe was coming for it. 🔒🥎 Her work in the field earned her Player of the Game! 🌟

CBC kept swinging, kept battling and when the dust settled, the scoreboard made the only call that mattered.

🔥 QUARTER FINAL TIME 🔥

The round robin is behind us and now every game matters.

Our U15 girls are back on the field at 9:30 a.m. this morning with a spot in the next round on the line.

Time to bring the bats, lock down the defence and play our game from the first pitch to the last. 🥎

🔥🥎 CBC TIGHTENED THE GLOVES AND TURNED UP THE DEFENCE! 🥎🔥

The bats put 13 on the board, but the gloves had plenty to say in this one too. The girls picked up their defence and made some huge plays at home, cutting down runs and keeping Whiteway from gaining momentum.

In the circle, Amelia Costello was painting — working the tops and corners of the plate and collecting the Ks. 🎨🥎 She wasn’t painting the whole plate… just the edges she needed.

Over at the hot corner, Jessica Robertson was about as sure-handed as they come. Hard-hit balls headed her way? No problem. Jess was picking them up and making the plays like third base was just another day at the office — and her bat was bringing plenty of heat too. 🔥 Her work on both sides of the ball earned her Player of the Game! 🌟

Good bats win innings. Good defence closes them.

🔥🥎 CBC HAD THEIR BATS IN BUSINESS — AND THEY WORKED OVERTIME. 🥎🔥

This one was a back-and-forth battle with Twillingate, and nobody was giving an inch. The bats were hot, the runs were hard-earned, and it all came down to the bottom of the 7th with CBC needing to make something happen.

Good thing this crew knows a thing or two about late-inning deliveries. 📦💥

CBC kept the line moving, found the gaps and pulled ahead when it mattered most, taking the nail-biting 8–7 win!

And Isabella Jackman wasn’t just finding gaps — she was finding postal codes. 😮‍💨🥎 A booming triple, a double and a handful of RBIs made for a BIG day at the plate and earned her Player of the Game! 🌟

Seven innings. Hot bats. One-run game.
