What is new in the 2026 Municipal Election?The Township has eliminated the ward system so that all council positions are elected at large.

Sorry, this post should have been made earlier in the summer.
There are a high number of pontoons driving with their docking ‘head lights’ on. The keyword being ‘docking” lights. This is a significant boating hazards for oncoming boats who are blinded by the bright lights. Even as a person safely navigates an oncoming pontoon with headlights on, your night vision is severely hampered. The lights reflect off the water or shine directly into cottages as they drive along and most importantly hampers seeing the actual legal navigation lights - red and green.

Boating regulations state:
Safe navigation lights on a pontoon boat require a red port sidelight, a green starboard sidelight, and a 360-degree all-round white stern or anchor light. Whenever you drive between sunset and sunrise or in heavy fog, these running lights must be turned on so other boaters can see your direction.

This festival is taking place just north of North Shore Rd off Cty Rd 46 next weekend, Aug 28-30. Plan ahead for extra traffic that weekend!

The LKRA has had a marker volunteer report that someone has been turning off the flashing lights in the narrows. He is concerned that this is creating an unsafe boating situation and it also means that he has to regularly check on them to ensure that they are working.
We have also had reports of people removing and/or relocating buoys.
The lake association and its volunteers place these buoys to mark rocks and shoals every spring and remove them in the fall. They are to enable safe boating on our lake. Interfering with these markers puts people and boats in danger.

Due to weather Sunday events will take place Monday on Cosgrove beach at 9 am. Skiing volleyball and canoe marathon.
