Well what a community..........you may have seen some of our comments regarding this past winter (not over yet...winter that is...lol).

The season has been a great one thanks to the volunteers, our patrons and all you that helped make it happen with your financial support.

As we have mentioned the Outdoor Ice Rink comes with substantial cost that is covered by community support/donations.........that support has been phenomenal this year.

In addition to the many individual / corporate contributions , we have had the support for our donation boxes at many business locations.

It is imperative as volunteers that we take the time to thank the following for allowing us to use their business locations to raise the need to make the OUTDOOR ICE RINK a success:

The Beer Store, Post Office, McGillicafey's, Peppers Pet Food,Captains Table, Home Hardware, Johnstons Pharmacy, C Store, Bridgewater Cafe , Focal Brewery, Pethericks Pharmacy, Romas Pizza, The Nook ,Rivers Edge along with a shout out to Todds Independent for allowing our posters.

Also to Trents Hills for the use of the park, supplying water(The Fire Fighters for the initial flood) and the many folks that helped the volunteers with shovelling

YOUR ICE RINK VOLUNTEERS CANNOT SAY "THANK YOU" ENOUGH TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR THE SUPPORT...it takes a village and you have delivered!!

As we close out our 5th season, enshrouded in fog and saturated with rain, we'd like to thank everyone for their support over the winter. We skated. We fundraised. We flooded. And we shovelled. Boy, did we shovel. And, as always, it was worth the effort.

To compliment and expand on our recent ice rink fundraising campaign, on a rotation basis local retailers have generously agreed to lend their support and counter space.

With temperatures forecast to drop steadily throughout the day and evening, we have every confidence we will be able to flood and open Sunday morning.

The good news; while a slow and painful exercise we were able to scrape off the snow/slush mixture this morning.

(Had we not been able to, given the forecast for this week, we might have seen a premature end to the season)

The bad news; the recently exposed ice surface is extremely soft and needs time and cold weather to heal.

The worst news; temperatures for the next four days remain at or above freezing with daily bouts of snow.

Needless to say we will do everything we can, as quickly as we can.

HELP?

With enough volunteers, willing to grab a shovel, we will keep ahead of the snow and be in a position to flood as soon as temperatures dip.
