Hillcrest Farm disc golf course is a private course located on 40 acres in the scenic rolling hills of Bonshaw, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It was designed by premier course designer John Houck of Austin Texas, whose influence on the sport has been significant over the past three decades. John Houck's courses are recognized by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) as some of the best cou
rses due to his creativity in using the unique land features to design holes that can be enjoyed by players at all levels. No one living today has designed more disc golf courses, and he is widely considered the # 1 course designer for disc golf world-wide. At Hillcrest Farm, John designed every hole to be different and challenging – some curve to the left, some to the right, some split into several branches and so forth. The course doesn't favour left or right handed players – it's challenging for everyone! Whether you've played disc golf a lot, a little or not at all, Hillcrest Farm disc golf course is versatile enough for everyone. We have both short and long tees to accommodate rookie and veteran players alike. The walk itself around the course is very good exercise, even without playing! The course was literally cut out of the woods, so there are many natural hazards for players. Every fairway is lined with trees of many different varieties, which make for very picturesque settings. We have pines, spruce, hemlock, alders, white and yellow birch, beech, poplar, willows, hawthorns and the ever-abundant maples on the course. Smelt Brook runs through the property, cutting across several of the holes and providing a water challenge for some shots. Since Hillcrest Farm is a working farm, parts of the course border on cattle and horse pastures, giving the player a uniquely different disc golf experience.
