A year later, it’s easy to look back and see how much had to happen to get here.

But at the beginning, we didn’t have it all figured out. We just started.

One class. One person. One step at a time.

Sometimes “it’s not that simple” is just the story we tell ourselves before we begin.

Turns out, starting was the simple part. 👊

A year ago, the biggest question was: what if nobody shows up? What if we built the wrong thing?

Then that first class happened.

Hamilton showed up. The room was full. People loved it. And suddenly all those worries felt a whole lot smaller.

Now, almost one year later, and we’re ready to open the doors to the community again 🥊

Construction was still going… but we were way too excited to wait. 😅

First, we took KICKS out to Bayfront Park to show up in the community - and Hamilton showed up for us too.

Then, with the studio almost finished, we held our first pop-up class inside the space. Some of those people are still members today. 🥊

That’s when it really started to feel like this was going to work.

The vision was set, keys secured, and now came the real work. Building KICKS from the ground up was going to take a lot of work! Every day still looked like a construction site… because it basically was. 😅

Then the bags arrived, and suddenly, KICKS started to feel real.

Only problem? We were getting a little impatient waiting to actually train people.

So… we didn’t wait. 👀
