Binding your abs does not heal your Diastasis!
This is a BIG, GARBAGE, myth that can actually do a lot more harm than good.

Holding your abs in a constant contracted state can offer some support if you are newly postpartum or have instability, BUT they are not meant to be in all the time and they should not be restrictive. They should offer gentle compression.

This constant ‘holding’ can actually put more pressure down, causing pelvic floor issues like leaking and prolapse. It can also change already disrupted breathing patterns, essentially making things a lot worse.

Your and need to lengthen in order to contract. They do this with specific-to-you breathing and mobility work. 👈 this will actually be the fastest way to heal your DR, not a binder or corset.

1 week ago today we adopted this muffin. Insta-fam, meet Shad!
Aka: Shady Shadow, Shades, Slim Shady
And guess what? Today he turns 1!

Shad has been a gem. He’s so easy going, loves cuddling with the boys, hangs out beside me while I see clients online, he even slept through an in studio pilates class. He’s goofy, sweet, smart and so lovable.

Our experience adopting a rescue from was so great. They were extremely thorough and matched us with the most perfect pup for our family.

I highly recommend adopting if a pet is in your future and finding a reputable rescue to adopt from. ❤️
