From Little Skaters to First Shift to House League or Rep,
one thing we know is youโ€™re never too young to try, learn, develop and make new friends. At AAGHA, we have a variety of programs starting from a young age, leading into our House League Program or Competitive teams. And if you didnโ€™t start young, thatโ€™s great too! Weโ€™ve got something for everyone and without question, the friends made along the way are the best part!

๐Ÿ“– The Story of First Shift

โ“ What is First Shift?

The First Shift Program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. The program aims to make hockey accessible, affordable, safe & fun for 6-10 year olds.

โ“ Who is First Shift for?
6-10 year olds that have not previously ever been registered in minor hockey

โ“ What is the cost?
$299 registration fee which includes a full set of Bauer equipment and 6 on-ice trial sessions

โ“ What is the goal?
A great way to introduce your child into trying the sport of hockey safely wearing proper equipment at an affordable cost. Have fun, learn basic skills and try the sport before fully committing to an entire season or extended costs.

June is National Indigenous History Month. Hamilton has many resources and events to honour, celebrate and reflect on the rich histories, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuits and Mรฉtis people. For generations, many Indigenous peoples and communities have celebrated their culture and heritage at this time due to the significance of the summer solstice (www.cityofhamilton.ca)

Hamilton gathers on June 19th for National Indigenous Peoples Day (which is officially recognized on June 21)
โญ๏ธ 2-4 p.m., James Street Plaza (3 Guise Street, Hamilton)
โญ๏ธ Indigenous performances, Indigenous artisan vendors and local food trucks

We offer HL from U9-U18 and itโ€™s a great place to make friends and develop your hockey skills, while learning and loving the game! Join the fun with returning players in our House League program or join a new team in Ancaster for the first time. Youโ€™ll experience playing other teams withinโ€™ the structure of the Greater Hamilton Girls Hockey League.

For players looking for extra development, instruction and added competition, we offer a Development Stream program (DS) designed for House League players to build and hone on their skills.

๐Ÿ…At the end the season, players celebrate with a final โ€œSuper Sundayโ€ where multiple pools are formed and teams play each other based on standings, with a medal opportunity.

๐Ÿฅ… Reduced fees, training and support with equipment for House League Goalies!
