I would like to share how proud I am of this Kid! Arber Xhejak signed his first NHL Contract with Montreal. Here is a kid who has always been an underdog. He is one of my favorite players I have had a chance to work with, especially as a young player in AAA. He grew up with a great group of players developing and playing elite summer hockey with David Tait-THT Hockey Development, defending players like Jamieson Rees from the Carolina Hurricanes. We spent many hours working on edging, shooting and other facets of his game. He would be the last one on my rink after 7 or 8 hours. He is such a competitive kid and always wants to be the best! I think the turning point for Arber was when he didn't get drafted in the OHL. It motivated him to be better and to add to his tools. Then going undrafted into the NHL and now here he is starting his professional career. I am not surprised he carved his own path to the show! He has an amazing blue collar family family whom I v\respect very much. His parents devoted everything for their children to pursue their goals. We were very close and I even took his younger brother Florian to Russia to play. He is a very good player in his own right. Moments like this make my job the best job in the world! Helping others achieve their goals feels better than achieving my own.
The Montreal Canadiens signed defenceman Arber Xhekaj to a three-year, two-way contract on Monday.
