New Team name Attrition, previously known as Vanier Outbreak Paintball in the CXBL

In 2013, Vanier Outbreak placed 1st in the RT5 division of the CXBL as well as:
3rd in Nax 2014
1st in Nax 2015
2nd in Nax 2016

Attrition won the OPL D3 Season title in 2017,
OPL D5 Season Title in 2019 , as well as 1 first place finish in OPL D4 during the shortened 2020 Covid Season.

Attrition is looking for dedicated players who are looking to grow, to join us this coming Spring to tryout for the 2022 season.

We have positions available in Divisions 4, 5 and 6. If you are interested in playing for the Premier squad please PM the Page or Mark Gawlikowski directly for more information.

No experience is required to tryout! We welcome all players, whether you are brand new, returning to the sport or just looking for a new family.

OPL E4 gets closer by the day and all of our players are waiting in anticipation for another chance for their hard work to hopefully pay off. Perhaps none more than Coulter Weiler from our Division 4 team who just earned a spot on the Premier squad for Event 4.

While Coulter has not been around tournament paintball for a long time, he is a dedicated student of the game who is always looking to improve. He started his tournament career with D4 Kitchener Revolution in 2019 and had some frustrating results, going deep into events several times but missing the podium. During this season he also joined the Attrition D5 squad for two podium events taking his first Gold and Silver medals. Taking most of the Covid-2020 Season to train his skills he is back and hungry as ever here and now in 2021.

Coulter is the type of player who may not be aggressive off the hop but can turn it up when you need him to. This is why you will often find him playing the 2 position behind a front attacker but coming through and cleaning things up to finish off the point. Though lately he has been performing well as a front attacker that drew the attention of coach Mark G when he was looking for another player to help fill out the Premier roster for E4. That being said, it is not just his performance lately that has been noticed but also his great attendance rate at practice and the effort he puts in at each one. Coulter is a hard working team player and that continues to pay off.

Speaking of being a Team Player, Coulter is also one of the camps tech gurus. Constantly taking the time to help and assist his teammates around the camp to make sure their gear is working in tip top shape. He has also stepped up to help Coach at several events when schedules conflict and Mark G cannot be in two places at once. He has seen success here as well, coaching our Division 5 team out of the prelims and into the playoffs at the previous event.

Keep your eye on this player as he makes his Premier debut this weekend!

One week from today our teams will be battling it out at Wasaga Beach Paintball for OPL E4, what better way to continue the countdown than more roster features? Today's feature player is Brecken McBurnie from our Premier squad.

Brecken has been around the block a few times and collected an impressive resume of play before joining Attrition. He starting playing in the late 2000s at Flagswipe paintball and ventured into tournament ball playing in the ESPL with London Blitz and Express Kidz. He then battled in the CXBL with Rockstar Cx4, Ville Marie zombies in Rxl and Hespeler Hooligans in Mxl. Showed the US what Ontario players bring to the table in the PSP with Rockstar in D4 and Canadian Express in D3 and finally returned to Ontario playing for the Zombies and Resurrection in the OPL. Brecken holds his PSP events in the highest esteem coming 7th in a D4 event and having the chance to play with the team he always looked up to in Canadian Express.

Despite an impressive history, Brecken does not feel comfortable where he is and is continuously putting in the effort to improve his performance and achieve a higher standard every time he steps on the field. He strives to be the best at everything he does and that desire translates into the effort he puts into this sport. He is constantly looking for his own weaknesses so he can work on and eliminate them.

Brecken is traditionally a Front Dorito attacker, so it makes sense to see him over there, chopping up the competition, winning gunfights and clearing out your teams backline. Though he is beginning to vary up his playstyle more with Attrition, venturing into the snake and causing chaos up the middle when he gets the opportunity. If he can play anywhere on the field, he will become the player he wants to be even faster and perform at an even higher level as the 1 on the Dorito side.

As you might expect, Brecken was less than thrilled with how Attrition Premier performed at the previous event and he has put several hours of practice and drills in since in the hopes of doing better on the 25th. No matter what happens, expect Brecken to put his all into the event and leave everything on the field.

Heading into the weekend it is time to start highlighting more of our players as we draw closer to OPL Event 4. Todays player feature is Liam Sachs from our Division 5 squad.

Liam is in his "second" year of tournament play with Attrition, starting his tournament career during the shortened 2020 Covid Season. However, this is not the first time Liam has stepped on a paintball field. He has been playing recreationally for years and also spent time as a referee before being convinced by some of our current players to take the leap into XBall.

While being relatively new to tournament play, Liam is a quick study. Listening intently whenever Mark G is coaching and always putting his all into the drills and practices the camp has.

With that being said Liam has thrown himself into the philosophy that Mark G teaches where every player should have the skills and ability to play anywhere on the field. You are just as likely to find Liam in the doritos as you are in the snake, either way though, you will likely find him playing the 1 pushing that attack against the other team.

Coming off a 2nd place finish at the previous event, watch for Liam and Attrition D5 to come out swinging, hungry for that Gold place finish at E4

#3 in our ongoing Roster Features. This week's focus is on Owen Schell from our Division 4 Squad.

Owen has been around the sport for several years now beginning his tournament career back in 2017 with Raiders Army. Despite performances that left much to be desired, Owen; a player full of grit and resilience put in the work and turned poor finishes into success with the D5 Wolverines in 2018 and competitive performances with Kitchener Revolution in D4

Fast forward to today and that grit and resilience remains. Owen is the type of player that just does not miss practice. This is because Paintball means the world to him, it's allowed him to finally find a place he feels he belongs and a place where he can be competitive, and competitive he is!

Owens playstyle continues to improve with the Attrition Camp where he has already had two solid finished including 1 podium in the 2021 season. At both events Owen was on the field as a starting player during clutch moments and points that put the team ahead. Lately you'll find him somewhere in the back line supporting front players in their quest for kills but that said he can easily switch that up and be on your side of the field in no time.

We hope you and your squad are practicing, because Owen has been and we know it'll pay off for him and the Division 4 Squad.

The Camp was back out at Soldiers of Fortune this morning getting lots of drills in to prepare us for the next event in the Ontario Paintball League. Watch our D5 team in this clip of a 30 second breakout drill!! 💪💪💪

Not only did we have a great turnout from our existing teams but we also fielded new beginner players that will be working towards their first event together in Wasaga.

Welcome to Tuesday August 24th, the day of the second installment of Attritions ongoing Roster Feature series. Today’s player feature is focused on someone who is all heart and lives for the game.

This featured player is none other than Paulo Medeiros. While Mark is the playmaker in the pits for Attrition, it is undeniable that Paulo is the heart and soul of the camp. With Paulo you find endless encouragement and determination, he will stop at nothing to win and failing that he always grinds harder to make it happen the next chance he gets. His perseverance and work ethic at practice seeps into the rest of the camp and challenges everyone to do better and to work just as hard as him to make the dreams we all hope for, come true.

Paulo got his start to tournament ball in the CXBL in the CX4 Division with Hamilton Havoc, followed by Dundas Demolition before playing for what can be considered one of the greatest camps in Ontario Paintball history: Vanier Outbreak. Paulo played alongside Mark G for 6 years in a row and when the CXBL folded Outbreak was close to becoming the most winning team in the CXBL, if it had lasted one more season they would have reached that. In 2017 Paulo played for the first iteration of Attrition taking home the D3 OPL Season Title.

On the field Paulo is the type of player you can always put your faith in, having such a large amount of experience you will likely see him somewhere along the backline off the break, racking up kills with his top tier off-break laning ability. That being said, do not expect to see him in the back line as the point winds down, Paulo’s field awareness allows him to make the moves needed to ensure the squad wins the point. Whether that's filling the Snake or going through the center; Paulo will get the job done and be humble about his role in the team's success.

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for this killer at the next event, hyping the boys up off the field, helping us get our heads in the game and making big things happen on the field.
