How lovely and calming for the kids!

When I lived in Europe I was scolded three different times for the “eating sins” of Americans!! For snacking between meals, eating in your car, and eating lunch at one’s desk while working. (The only one I was actually doing was the last one!) I think that we would have better mental and physical health if we imitated the Europeans’ eating habits.

In France, school lunches are often viewed as an important part of a child’s education rather than simply a break between classes. Many schools serve meals in a structured, multi-course format that resembles the dining experience found in restaurants. Instead of rushing through a quick lunch, students are encouraged to sit together, eat at a relaxed pace, and appreciate a variety of foods. The meal may include a starter, a main course, a side dish, cheese or yogurt, and a dessert, introducing children to balanced eating habits from an early age.

Beyond nutrition, these lunches are also used to teach social and dining skills. Students learn how to sit properly at the table, use utensils correctly, wait their turn, and interact respectfully with others during meals. Teachers and school staff often view lunchtime as an opportunity to reinforce good manners and positive social behavior. By regularly participating in a structured dining environment, children become familiar with customs that can help them feel comfortable in a variety of social settings later in life.

What makes this approach especially interesting is that it treats food as part of a broader educational experience. The focus is not only on providing healthy meals but also on helping children develop lifelong habits related to nutrition, respect, and social interaction. Through daily practice, students learn that eating can be both enjoyable and meaningful. It is a thoughtful example of how schools can use ordinary routines to teach valuable life skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Join us on June 10th from 2-4 PM for this transformative workshop!
This hands-on workshop teaches golfers, tennis players, and active adults how to improve the foundations of rotational power without forcing the body or overloading the joints.

Most people try to create more power by swinging harder. But if the body lacks posture, mobility, deep core control, and coordinated rotation, that extra effort often turns into compensation through the low back, neck, hips, or shoulders.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to identify where your body is leaking power, restore cleaner rotation, activate the deep core, and build a practical roadmap toward stronger, safer rotational movement.
