Gratitude Moments I've noticed this morning
(in no particular order):
1. This morning's cup of coffee in the new halloween mug
2. my laptop that gives me the opportunity to explore/research/study/create/& connect with people
3. It's Friday!
4. Thankful that they didn't kill the bear, that was found in the Dartmouth Commons. I was concern that they were going to kill it, which would had been so unfair for it. Thankfully they DID NOT, but instead relocated it.
5. The quietness in the early morning hours, before the busy day begins.
6. This business that I'm building, creating great growth opportunities for many other people...not easy, but so worth doing (big picture thinking)
7. My health....my ability to do what I love in my running/fitness/my everyday actives (the child, the athlete in me wants to play!)
8. Bali's "talks" in the morning...that cat talks up a storm! lol
9. The connection with Taylor...the silly chats we have from time to time
10. Jason...for everything he does for the family & for everybody else (man, he does soooooo much!)
11. Connor's silly sense of humour...him & I are always cracking the jokes, or at least trying to find different ways to do so
The purpose of this gratitude journal is to open my mind again and take notice of all the little things I DO HAVE in this life.
In a society that can have you feel that you don't have enough, you're not enough, etc we actually have many things in our lives that does bring joy into our lives, that fulfills our lives, that makes our lives great, worth being here, etc because if these "lil things" (these lil things can start to feel like big things once we start to value them, appreciate them) all of sudden disappear in our lives, we no longer have them any more....life would be dull, lonely, miserable, heartbreaking, empty, etc.
But because we don't take the time to pause & appreciate what we have, we create that sense of dull, lonely, miserable, etc when we have so much right in front of us already!
This doesn't mean to limit yourself though....appreciate what you DO have as you grow in the things you want to do in your life. This just causes your life to expand even more, instead of the opposite.
This doesn’t mean to be naive/or ignore life’s challenges/struggles/etc…it means w/ a moment of gratitude/appreciation, it helps to open our minds to notice w/ what we do have in our life, the people we do have in our life, the resources we do have in our life, etc. It helps to open the mind for better quality of thinking, seeking for solutions we need, problem solving, gaining clarity, etc which in turn helps us make better consistent decisions/choices/actions in our lives.
Life expanding as we grow.
Allowing ourself to create fulfilling memories for our future self.
