It would be fun to discuss how Prana (Prana, Apana, Samana, Vyana and Udana) relates to mitochondria with my yogini friends. How do yogi practices help develop resonance, regulate energy. We are in the Dwapara Yuga the energy age so this research is very timely. If you make it to the end of the podcast, the way Dr. Martin answers the final question is so profound. My take away from having a stillborn baby was to drop my expectations. But I loved what he as the father took away from their miscarriage: SLOW DOWN

Corilee, we needed more time together. It is hard to process that you have merged back with Source so soon. You taught us to be courageous, to how love family and strangers as we are all One.

The family of Corilee G. Fox, 59, of Halifax, announces with heavy hearts her passing on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Corilee passed away at the Halifax Infirmary, enveloped in the love of the family she cherished so deeply. She was the daughter of Marianne Fox and the late Alvin Fox.

Happy Friday 13th!

This is a sacred day of divine feminine energy, representing intuition, lunar cycles (13 moons per year), and the reclaiming of feminine power from historical superstitions. Friday is named after Freya (Norse) and is associated with Venus, and Goddess energy. On Friday mornings, my yoga practice honours fertility, beauty, abundance, and dharma by connecting with the Divine Feminine energy of Lakshmi.

Artwork by Joseph Tomanek Is there something to fear on Friday the 13th? For years people have been telling us Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. Horror movies have been named after this day and research also tells us that there is an increase of accidents on Friday the 13th. But, where did all […...

I learned to meditate daily in university. It was not part of the curriculum, but the practice has stayed with me for 40 years. The reason i started was to be apart of a critical mass (1% of the population*) practicing daily to reduce crime rate, domestic violence, accidents, even war. The intention was to create a ripple effect in the quantum field to foster peace, economic prosperity, harmony and a general calmness in my community.

Anyone want to join me virtually for 1 month of daily meditation in March?

-So Hum or TM meditation technique

-20 minutes before breakfast and 20 minutes before supper.

-daily motivation emails

-weekly check ins every Sunday via Messenger or Zoom

*The effect, according to the Maharishi, requires a “critical mass” of meditators: initially estimated to be around 1% of a given population practicing TM. Later studies refined this to what’s called the “√1% formula,” where the square root of 1% of a population practicing TM collectively could produce notable societal effects. For example, in a city of one million people, around 100 dedicated meditators would be needed to generate the Maharishi Effect. (Halifax would need 50 meditators practicing.)

In an extraordinary display of unity, over a million children across 5,000 schools in Thailand participated in a mass meditation for world peace. This monumental event serves as a reminder of the power of collective intention and the importance of teaching the younger generation about the value of inner peace. Meditation, often seen as an individual practice, was transformed into a global movement, showing that peace is not just an individual pursuit—it’s a collective responsibility.

The scale of this meditation is a testament to Thailand’s commitment to fostering mindfulness and compassion in its citizens, especially the youth. By integrating meditation into the education system, the country is shaping a future generation that understands the importance of mental well-being, empathy, and social harmony. The meditation practice itself is rooted in the belief that when individuals come together in peace, the ripples can spread far beyond their immediate surroundings, affecting the world at large.

As the world continues to face numerous challenges, the message from Thailand’s children is clear: peace begins within, and it spreads outward. By teaching the values of mindfulness, empathy, and compassion from a young age, we can cultivate a generation equipped to tackle the world’s problems with a calm and thoughtful approach. This event is a reminder that no act of kindness or peace is too small to make a difference. 🧘‍♀️🌏

Recovery after brain injury isn’t linear — it can feel confusing, isolating, and exhausting. But you don’t have to walk it alone.

This September, I’m offering a new yoga therapy class series for individuals navigating life after concussion, trauma, or brain injury.

Through mindful movement, guided breath, and gentle stillness, this series supports:
- Re-integration of mind and body
- Emotional regulation and resilience
- A sense of inner grounding

These classes are small, trauma-sensitive, and fully adaptable.

💬 If someone in your circle is walking this path, sharing this could mean everything.

If this resonates with you, there’s more to explore: www.joanndalfonso.com

How to lead peacefully: Verse 30 of the “Tao te Ching” by Stephen Mitchell.

Pronouns updated by me.

Whoever relies on the Tao in governing (citizens)
doesn’t try to force issues
Or defeat enemies by force of arms.
For every force this a counterforce.
Violence, even well intentioned,
Always rebounds upon oneself.

The Master do their job
and then stop.
They understand that the universe
is forever out of control,
and that trying to dominate events
goes against the current of the Toa.
Because they believe in themselves,
they don’t try to convince others.
Because they are content with themselves,
they don’t need other’s approval.
Because they accept themselves,
the whole world accepts them.

I am curious why Magnetricity (the flow of magnetic monopoles as the magnetic equivalent of electricity) has not been pursued as an alternative way to generate energy to heat our homes and transport us? It would reduce our dependence on fossil fuels even make solar panels more efficient. Scientists have known about it since 2009.

Yoga Sutra 1.33 from Patanjali says:

“By cultivating attitudes of friendliness toward the happy, compassion for the unhappy, delight in the virtuous, and disregard toward the wicked, the mind-stuff retains its undisturbed calmness.”

maitri karuna muditopeksanam sukha duhkha punyapunya visayanam bhavanatas citta prasadanam

Nischala Joy Devi interprets this sutra as representing four locks that block us from our natural peaceful state.

The four locks are:
sukha (happy people who we are a little jealous of),
dukha (unhappy people who bring us down, or we look down upon),
punya (the virtuous people being noble who we resent or criticize), and apunya (the not-so-virtuous people who trigger us, and oppose our core values aka evil).

Using the driving example:
1) people happily driving the speed limit when we are late and in a rush
2) people stuck on the side of the road
3) seniors driving cautiously
4) reckless drivers with no regard for others safety

Patanjali offers 4 keys to open these locks so we can remain peaceful, centred when encountering others.

The four keys are:
maitri (friendliness or loving-kindness),
karuna (compassion),
mudita (delight), and
upeksha (disregard or equanimity)

Using the driving example:
1) smile, slow down and let the happy driver be the ‘pace car’
2) have compassion and stop to help the driver on the side of the road*
3) exercise patience with senior drivers, delight in their independence.
4) honking your horn (confronting or trying to argue with) a reckless driver will unlikely change their behaviour and likely escalate the situation. AVOID these drivers. Calmly contact the authorities who are trained and equipped to keep the peace.**

*Recently my car was stuck on a slippery hill and a kind pedestrian saw me struggling and slipping. He QUICKLY gestured to me, with out hesitation, “do you want me to push your car? I gave him the thumbs up with sincere gratitude. My spinning tires may have sprayed him with dirty slush, for which I am sorry. HE WAS SO COMPASSIONATE, it was his first impulse.

**I am not sure if this is an official Oprah video or just a compilation but it speaks to the idea behind this sutra. Silence is GOLDEN. Retain your equanimity when confronted with some who is just looking for a reaction.
