Dalhousie Masters Swimming

Dalhousie Masters Swimming The DMSC offers 6 structured practices each week for swimmers of all levels. The club is open to any Dalplex member, or university student.

The term "Masters" refers to adult athletes (18+). We are not associated with masters programs at Dalhousie (ex. MSc, MA, MBA), but masters students are welcome to join! Our team is open to all Dalhousie students, staff and Dalplex members. Masters swimmers should be able to swim front crawl well and be comfortable completing practice distances over 1000m. While there are no minimum time standards

required to join the team, you may not be granted membership if you do not meet any of the above requirements.

Good afternoon, everyone!

I want to take a quick second to talk about three very exciting things coming up for the team.

1) The Dartmouth whalers will be hosting a swim meet on April 9th. If you are looking to participate in the swim meet or if you have any questions, please email me, and let me know. If you want to participate, I need to hear from you by Friday, April 25th.
2) We have access to the high-performance weight room Sunday mornings 9-10:30 AM.
3) We are looking for our president for next season. If you are interested in the position and would like more information, reach out. The president MUST BE a Dalhousie Student.

Good afternoon!

I am very excited to say that we are scheduled to begin practices on February 14th, 2022. The schedule is outlined below:


Payments can be e-transferred to [email protected] for $80. This includes unlimited practices in the pool as well as using the high-performance weight room. We have a session in the weight room booked for Sunday mornings, however I am still waiting for confirmation that this will be open for use. All members must pay the team fee for this semester.

In order to participate this semester, you must also be registered with Swim Canada. Without completing registration, you will not be granted access to our practices. For those who swam last semester, you should have received an email with a link for you to follow to complete this registration. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to reach out.

As a quick reminder, being a member of the Dalhousie Masters Swim Team means that you agree to follow the Dalhousie Student Code of Conduct. You must also follow all COVID masking rules. For the swim team, this means you must always wear your mask while on the pool deck and in the changeroom (I would suggest bringing a second one in case the first gets soggy!).

As Dalplex members, you can all still book lanes individually and go for a swim that way. If you would like a practice feel free to message this account or send an email to [email protected]
