The Halifax Rowing Club (HRC) brings together people who enjoy the sport of rowing and who want to learn. The purpose of the Club is to provide recreational and competitive rowing in our community and to encourage participation in the sport. Anyone can become a member of the Club upon completion of a membership form and payment of the Club fees. Halifax Rowing Club is open for on-water rowing from

the beginning of May until the end of October, and its members have the opportunity to participate in winter training programs from November to April. HRC provides members the opportunity to row for fun, health and recreation. But if you are interested in racing and competition you can do that too. HRC participates in all of the rowing regattas that are held in Nova Scotia. Members may also participate in regattas held in other locations, such as the Henley Regatta, the Canadian Masters Championships, the Head of the Charles in Boston, the Head of the Rideau in Ottawa, and the Head of the Four Bridges in Fredericton. Programs offered include:
- Learn to Row for new rowers
- Return to Rowing for those who have taken a break from their rowing
- Junior Rowing programs
- Adult Competitive Rowing
- Adult Recreational Rowing

Rowing is an activity you can take up at any age and keep doing for your whole life. Come out and see what HRC has to offer.

On this Canada Day 🇨🇦, the Halifax Rowing Club acknowledges that our clubhouse and the waters we row upon are located in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. The Northwest Arm and the Halifax Harbour are part of Kjipuktuk, meaning "The Great Harbour." For thousands of years, these waters have been stewarded, navigated, and protected by the Mi'kmaq. As rowers who find joy, community, and purpose on this water, we recognize our deep responsibility to care for it and to respect the land that sustains us. 🍁

On Saturday, the Halifax Rowing Club hosted the Halifax Harbour Championship!

A big thank you to the umpires, coaches and volunteers who made the event possible!

Congratulations to all athletes for racing hard and showing great sportsmanship! The Cogswell Medal was won by Emerson Crick from HRC and the Pelham Prize was won by Lucy MacLeod from North Star Rowing Club! 🏅🏆
