A few tips from your local run store today!
Don’t end up with black toe (like me/Erika…). These two tips have saved my toes in my current training block for Chicago!
First Up. The Runner’s Loop! Lock your mid-foot and ankle securely against the back collar of your shoe. This will stop your foot from sliding forward, stopping the small impacts that cause bruised, black toe nails and blistered heels. See the video above for instruction!
Second. A good rule is to have roughly a thumb’s width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe - especially on long runs, when your feet will swell! Too tight = black toenails.
Save your toes!
