Before 2026 Asuncion, Paraguay World Skate Games Oct 1st 2026.
JAKES RASH FOR CASH Freeride & Race
May 19-20 2026
Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia Canada
Registration info @ coastlongboarding.com

Attention Men’s & Women’s Downhill Skateboarders.

There is a three month cutoff for earning points before a World Skate Games Championship Race.
This rule exists to allow enough time for athletes to plan their trip and logistics.
Three months before WSG Paraguay 2026 Oct 1st is July 1st, 2026. This means most of the 2026 summer race season does not count for Paraguay. There is, however, one legendary race, Jakes Rash for Cash Freeride and Race. This famous race occurs alongside The Attack of Danger Bay 25 R.I.P. May 14-20, 2026. In Pender Harbour, BC. The race that brought the world to Canada. Come race one last time. Only Jakes Rash for Cash will earn you points towards earning a spot on Team Canada. It could make the difference between representing Canada in Paraguay at the World Skate Games. Jakes Rash will not have a timing system, this is Race To Qualify. The Jakes Rash team is highly skilled, experienced, and equipped to run a quality race. Team Canada Downhill Committee members will be on site as well to help ensure fairness and assist where needed. Organizers are using the (WGSF) World Gravity Sports Federation 2025 Rulebook. In the final corner, expect to see local legend and former world champion Scoot Smith as an official final corner judge.

The point breakdown for Jakes Rash for Cash is as follows:
1st- 75
2nd - 70
3rd - 66
4th -61
5th - 58
6th - 55
7th - 52
8th - 49
3rd in quarter final - 45
4th in quarter final - 39
Everyone Else – 30

The Canadian Downhill Committee has come to a decision in regards to the potential World Skate Races in 2025 for the Womens Downhill Skateboard, Mens and Womens Street Luge.

As of August 21st 2024, it is unknown if or when the World Skate race will take place. This criteria will only be in effect if the 2025 World Skate Race takes place between January 1st 2025 to August 31st 2025.

The 2025 Womens Downhill Skateboard team will remain the same from the 2023 qualifier for the 2025 World Championship. If a team member is unable to attend, we offer spots to alternates in order of rank. If no alternate is able to attend. A wild card will be decided with the committee's discretion.

The Mens Street Luge team will consist of the 1 top finish from Rome and the one top finisher from Soldiers of Downhill. If the top Canadian finisher from Rome is unable to attend, then the 2nd spot from Rome is offered. If the top from soldiers can not attend, then the 2nd spot from soldiers will be offered.

The womens Street Luge team will consist of the same team from 2023. If the top 2 from Rome are unable to attend, the alternate list will be used. If no woman from the alternate list is able to attend, a Wild Card spot will be chosen at the comittees discretion.

Once again... this criteria will only be used if the World Skate race takes place prior to August 31st 2025.

The Canadian Downhill Committee has come to a decision in regards to the potential World Skate Races in 2025.

As of August 7th, 2024, it is unknown if or when the World Skate race will take place. This criteria will only be in effect if the 2025 World Skate Race takes place between January 1st 2025 to August 31st 2025.

The Mens Downhill Skateboard will consist in the top 3 from the 2023 Canadian standings with the additional 3 spots going to the top Canadian Mens finisher of Maryhill 2024 and the top 2 Canadian Mens finishers of Bainbridge 2024

If one of the pre-selected riders can not attend the 2025 race, it will be given to the 4th place person in the 2023 standings.

If the Worls Skate race takes place after August 31st 2025, then races in the spring and summer of 2025 will be considered.

This decision was not taken lightly and was debated extensively. With the Maryhill, WSG Rome and Bainbridge races being in such close proximity to each other it was the committee's feeling that in order for the fairest chance for our riders to do their best in Rome and also for others to qualify for the still unannounced 2025 World Skate Race.

Womens Skateboard, mens and womens luge will be announced soon
