Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society - CAS

Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society - CAS Chedabucto Curling Club was established in 1963 and is celebrating 61 years of operation in Boylston, NS.

From its humble beginning in 1963 the Chedabucto Curling Club has provided the community with a wonderful recreational location. The Club --- through the dedication of many volunteers --- started as a natural-ice one-sheet rink housed under a plastic-covered frame. Because of support from many volunteers the Club continues and has developed into the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Socie

ty (CAS); an organization dedicated to serving the needs of its community through curling and other activities.

The BBQ Chicken is Back!
Join us during Come Home Week on July 19th at 1:00 PM for the annual Ducky Race!
Due to this year's tide times, we're switching things up and serving lunch instead of our traditional pancake breakfast. That means the return of our popular BBQ Chicken Lunch! Meals can be purchased at the club on the day of the event, but we encourage everyone to pre-order as quantities are limited and we may sell out. To pre-order your BBQ chicken lunch, please contact Byron @ 250-263-7916
There will be plenty of fun for the whole family throughout the afternoon. Kids can enjoy a variety of games and activities with prizes to be won, along with face painting, a visit from a fire truck, a miniature Highland cow named Cupcake, and the return of the always-popular dunk tank.
Adults can enjoy the outdoor beer garden, Crown & Anchor, a 50/50 draw, and of course the dunk tank is open to big kids too!
We are also exploring the possibility of hosting a few Cribbage tournaments during the off-season. Keep an eye on our page and local posters for updates and announcements.
Don't forget that the Club is available to rent throughout the year for parties, celebrations, meetings, and special events. For rental inquiries, please call, text, email, or visit our page.

Our Memorial Closing Bonspiel has come to an end with 12 teams competing for the Memorial Closing Bonspiel trophy and donation prize money. This year we had two teams from the Canso Curling Club. After three round robin games Team O'Connor came out on top with a 2-1 record and 127 points. In 2nd place with 111 points and a 2-1 record was Team Neufeld, and in 3rd place was Team Gunn with a 2-1 record and 105 points. The club received generous donations from sponsors Sceles Realty, GFL Guysborough, Crazy Daisy, Baile- Mor Salonspa, Grampy Hart's General Store, Salty Shores Candle Co., Massage Oasis, and Seawind Landing. MLA Greg Morrow is also a proud supporter.
As we do in most of our bonspiels, we have a team 'draw to the button' after the 1st game which helps to determine a winner if 2 or more teams are tied in points. The closest to the button prize went to Cathy Wyatt who was right on the pin. The team prize went to Team Gunn.
Thanks as always goes out to Byron who helped organize this bonspiel. To our bar staff led by Donna, our kitchen staff led by Nancy and our ice prep team led by Phil. Without our volunteers these bonspiels would not happen. At dinner time we honored long time members Gerry and Evelyne Jamieson who will be leaving our club and moving on to a new home near Masstown, NS. Both Gerry and Evelyne helped organize and run our Day League. They will surely be missed. That's a wrap on another successful season at the Chedabucto Curling Club.
