Big weekend in Saskatoon for SWSRDA 💥

We had two of our Redneck Betties lace up with NF Bombs for the Best of the Rest bout, and they absolutely brought it. Such a great opportunity to skate alongside and against incredible talent.

Our junior skaters also hit the track in the junior invitational, gaining experience, confidence, and showing just how strong the future of our league is looking.

And of course, Squirrely was right in the middle of it all, officiating and doing what he does best.

We love seeing our league represented on every level — players, juniors, and officials — all showing up, working hard, and supporting the sport we love.

Meet our 2025/2026 Ra Ra Riots!

Our junior team is full of energy, determination, and heart. These young athletes continue to learn, grow, and push themselves every time they hit the track, and it shows.

We may be a little late introducing them this season, but we couldn’t be more proud of this group. Keep an eye on these skaters…they’re the future of roller derby in our community.

Huge congratulations to Squirelly on reaching 100 games reffed! This is a massive milestone in the officiating world and something worth celebrating!

If you know roller derby, you know that refs are the backbone of the game, and hitting 100 games is no small feat. It takes dedication, patience, knowledge, and a whole lot of time spent making sure everyone else gets to play safely and fairly.

On top of that, Squirelly does so much for our league behind the scenes as our League President, Head of Bout, and Head Skating Official, including training and mentoring other officials and helping keep everything running smoothly. And somehow, he still finds time to play and keep learning on the track too.

There are a million little things that happen in a league that most people never see, and chances are, Squirelly has had a hand in making them happen.

Thank you for your time, your leadership, your patience, and everything you do for SWSRDA. We appreciate you more than words can say.

Earlier this week on the Country 94.1/Country 1490 morning show powered by Canadian Tire Swift Current, Panic and Punchy from the Redneck Betties Roller Derby Team stoped by to talk about their home opener, coming this Saturday at the InnovationPlex! 🛼

Starting at 1:30pm with the Adult Scrimmage, followed up at 4pm with the Ra Ra Riot Jr srimmage and leading up to the main event at 7pm as the Betties host the Scarlet Fever! Admission is by donation, so plan accordingly for the return of the Betties! 👏

Punchy and Panic! were up nice and early this morning hanging out with our favorite radio hosts!

We loved talking about Roller Derby, and our game coming up this weekend!

Last weekend, 3 of our skaters went for another adventure to Red Deer!

Bashin’ Bones had her final practice with Beat Generation ahead of there adventures to Michigan.

Miss Koozie and Panic! also had there final practice with the NF Bombs ahead of 2 big tournaments, Best of the Rest in SaskatoonC and Flat Track Fever in Calgary!

These skaters have put a lot of work in this year with the distance teams they are a part of, and we are so proud of them!
