Another beautiful Saturday morning for ERT is in the books, filled with smiles and great spirits! 🥰💛 We even had a young fairy spreading some dust over the course while her dad worked hard pushing the stroller 😉

A total of 253 participants finished the 5K course, including 26 first-timers 💛 We hope to see you again soon. We also welcomed visitors from South Africa, Kitchener, and New Brunswick. A pleasure having you join us! 🤩

The pleasant morning made for a whopping 34 personal bests 🎉💪 Great job, speedy folks - I’m sure the fairy dust gave you a little extra power! 😂 In the milestones department, congrats to Lisa N and Tenille K for reaching 25 parkruns! 👏

Our event exists because of the work of amazing volunteers. This week, 17 folks made it happen, including first-time volunteer Jill R! 💛 Volunteering is a fun way to experience and support parkrun. Experienced volunteers will be happy to give you training and support. Sign up at your next parkrun or email us at [email protected].

We hope to see you next Saturday at 9 AM at York Road Park. Feel free to bring a child stroller or a dog on a short handheld leash - all are welcome! If you’re joining parkrun for the first time, you can register once (for free!) at parkrun.ca/register. You’ll get a barcode to bring each time so you can receive credit in the parkrun results and kudos for your achievements! 🤩💛♥️

This was a big week for parkrun in Canada -- the 10th anniversary of the first parkruns in the country in 2016! 🎆🎊. Since today fell on the 22nd of the month, it also was a tutu (22) run day, where participants are invited to show up in their most colourful tutus 😀.

People must have been inspired! The 251 participants in today’s event included 17 first time ever parkrunners and 16 second timers 🎉. Thirty-six set personal course PBs!

It was a day where youthful speed was on show. Peter O, in the 11-14 age group, set the fastest time on his 25th milestone parkrun, with the next three finishers all in the 15-17 age group.

We welcomed visitors from New Zealand, the UK, and Coquitlam. Happy you chose our event!

Congratulations to Laurie B for completing parkrun #200, Karl B for #100, Tim C and Jamie H for their #50, and Peter O and Rachel L for their #25 👏.

Your local parkrun thrives because of the work of volunteers. ***Luke H celebrated volunteering for the 100th time this week! 🤩.*** Our parkrun happened because of the work of 20 people setting up, marshaling 🚩, timing ⏲, handing out finisher tokens, and doing the other jobs to that make the event happen 💪. Volunteering is a fun way to experience and support parkrun. Experienced volunteers will be happy to give you training and support. Sign up at your next parkrun or email us at [email protected].

We hope to see you out to walk, jog or run for next Saturday at 9 AM at York Road Park. Feel free to bring a child stroller or dog on a short handheld leash. All are welcome! If you are joining parkrun for the first time, you can register once (for free) at parkrun.ca/register. You’ll get a barcode to bring every time so you can get credit in the parkrun results and kudos for your achievements!

The ERT event #256 had it all! Great summer vibes, many families, a large youth presence, lots of smiles, and even a snake showing up by the course; wild, eh? 🐍

Our reptile friend didn’t scare the 256 participants, though the 36 first‑timers might have been surprised by such an amazing atmosphere. We welcomed visitors from Whitby, Kelowna, and Buffalo - great to have you with us! 💛🤩 The beautiful morning contributed to a whopping 42 personal bests, including the two fast young sisters Annabelle and Scarlet, both well under 15 and running in the front pack. Congratulations, everyone! 👏🏽💪

Three folks reached participation milestones: Sarah N and Nick B completed their 25th event, while Sally D reached her 50th! 🥳🎉 Thank you and congrats! 💛

We thank the 18 volunteers who made the event happen, and we have a few big celebrations: Brad M (this week’s event director) completed his 250th volunteering day, Robert B reached his 150th, and Kent L completed his 25th. 💪👏 We also had the mother‑daughter duo Amelia and Maeve M volunteering for the first time while greeting everyone on York Rd. parkrun is positive, welcoming, and inclusive: everyone is welcome, and no one finishes last!

This past Saturday’s event was a true demonstration of what parkrun is all about. Our photographer, John, visited us from Toronto’s Budapest Park parkrun and captured many wonderful moments. Families, friends, young future parkrunners, seasoned parkrunners, a few puppies, plenty of smiles, and lots of fun. On “the other side,” volunteers were cheering people on, catching up with friends, and helping one another. It’s all about building community! 🤩💛

Thanks to everyone who joined us, and we’ll see you again next Saturday at 9 am at York Rd Park. If you’re joining us for the first time, register once (for FREE!!) at parkrun.ca/register and bring your barcode to all events. Everyone is welcome. 😊💛
