The best coaching relationships aren’t transactional.
They’re built on trust, communication, and shared standards.
If you’re looking for someone to rush results or sell shortcuts, there are plenty of options.
If you want a coach who protects your progress and your body—we’re here.
We speak barbell here.

Real confidence comes from knowing your body can handle what’s in front of it.
That doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s built

Most people don’t need more motivation in the gym.
They need better coaching.
Mark’s approach is built on a deep understanding of how the body actually moves - and the ability to explain it clearly, calmly, and patiently.
No rushing.
No intimidation.
No “just do it and hope for the best.”
Instead, every cue has a reason.
Every correction is intentional.
And every client understands why they’re doing what they’re doing.
This is what helps people move better, get stronger, and feel confident in their bodies, especially if they’ve felt unsure, intimidated, or worried about getting hurt in the past.
If you’ve been watching, thinking, and wondering if this kind of coaching is right for you…
send us a DM. We’re happy to talk it through.
This is why training at The Vault is different.

What an incredible day for .northey at Nationals! She went 9 for 9, achieved all-time personal bests, and set a new national record on the bench! 🏆🔥
Mark was proud to support her on the platform and help ensure everything ran smoothly so she could focus on lifting her best.
A huge congratulations on an outstanding performance - the result of hard work, focus, and experience paying off at the right moment.

🎯 Why Scapular Retraction Matters in the Lat Pulldown
Before you pull the bar down, your first move should always be a scapular retraction — drawing your shoulder blades slightly down and back.
Here’s why it matters 👇
✅ Engages the lats first: This primes the correct muscles for the movement, instead of letting your arms take over.
✅ Protects your shoulders: It keeps the shoulder joint in a stable, safe position throughout the pull.
✅ Improves strength and control: You’ll feel stronger through the full range of motion because you’re moving from a solid foundation.
✅ Builds better posture: Retraining your scapular mechanics carries over to everyday movement and lifts.
At The Vault Barbell Club, we teach more than just “how to lift” — we teach you why it matters.
