We teach “The Principles of the Black Belt”
As a dedicated student of the martial arts, I will live by the principles of the Black Belt:
Modesty
Being proud of your accomplishments but not boastful. Able to do well but not act superior to others. Courtesy
Having respect for other people's feelings, helping someone out, not laughing at another person's mistakes. Being polite. Integrity
Being a person that others can trust, rely on and count on at all times. Self Control
To stop yourself from doing things that can hurt you or someone else, either mentally or physically. Perseverance
To keep going even when you feel like quitting. To keep on trying to do your absolute best. Indomitable Spirit
Not to be discouraged or defeated in any way. Always willing to say, "Yes, I can." What’s our goal?
“Black Belt Excellence, Sir!”
Respect
One of the most important words in martial arts is respect. Students are taught to respect their instructors, each other, and themselves. Instructors spend time in class discussing the importance of respecting school teachers and parents. Focus and Self Control
Children need focus and self control in order to achieve their goals, especially in a world that is filled with distractions and information overload. This skill involves paying attention, remembering the rules, thinking flexibly, and exercising self control
Fine motor skills
Fine motor skills involve the small muscles of the body that enable such functions as writing, grasping small objects and many other daily tasks we take for granted. Fine motor control requires awareness and planning to complete a task. It also requires muscle strength, coordination and normal sensation. Many studies show that the ground work for these skills should be set by age 6. Classes run in 8 week sessions. Students get promoted to a new rank at the end of each session. Classes are limited to 8 students to keep a favorable student to teacher ratio. Contact us for pricing and availability.
