Happy Spring everyone! It’s getting to that time of year where we like to start thinking about swimming lessons for the kiddos this summer. However, it is with sadness that I must inform you that I will not be able to teach anymore due to the demands of both my education and my other job. Words can not express how thankful I am to have taught all of your wonderful kids and watch them grow and develop over the years into fantastic swimmers. At this time, I have not found anyone to take over the lessons, but I encourage you to reach out if you know someone who might be interested in teaching, and to encourage your kids into becoming lifeguards and swim instructors! If you are looking for recommendations for this summer, send me a DM and I will try my best to get back to you to help find the best place for your kids. Meaghan and I are so very appreciative and thankful to all of you for the past nine years of excitement and fun at Datema’s Swimming!

quick reminder! registration opens next week saturday, april 30! register by emailing [email protected].
some things to include in your registration email:
your kids names and ages,
the highest level they’ve passed or they’re experience in water if new to lessons,
your preferred weeks (please try to include two or more weeks that work for you),
your preferred time (morning or afternoon).
these are the weeks available for registration:
june 20-24 (after school starting at 4:00),
july 5-9 (morning/afternoon),
july 11-15 (morning/afternoon),
july 18-22 (morning only),
august 1-5 (morning/afternoon),
august 8-12 (morning/afternoon).
i am so excited to be teaching lessons again this year and look forward to hearing from you next week!

hey everyone! this is a friendly reminder that registration for swimming lessons opens on april 30! keep in mind prices this year will be $80 for 5 30 minute sessions and $160 for 5 1 hour sessions, with a maximum of 3 kids in the pool per session. and don’t forget the prices are per time slot, not per child. the weeks that will be open for registration are found on my previous post.
unfortunately, as of december 31, 2022 the Canadian Red Cross will not be offering water safety programs anymore. this means that by next year i will need to offer lessons through Lifesaving Society. if you want to read more about the Lifesaving Society visit this link: https://www.lifesavingsociety.com. i am already certified to teach Lifesaving Society programs, so I am considering switching to Lifesaving Society already this year, instead of the Red Cross programs. if anyone would like more info feel free to reach out by dm or email. and i always appreciate your feedback so please let me know if you would prefer to stay with the Red Cross programs. enjoy your weekend!

who is ready for summer? i know i am! datema’s swimming is returning this summer for an awesome year of swimming lessons. registration is set to open on april 30, 2022 at 12:00 a.m. so mark your calendars! registration will be done once again through EMAIL ONLY. if you try to register through direct message or private message i cannot guarantee you a spot. my email is [email protected].
the following weeks will be open for registration:
june 20-24 (after school starting at 4:00)
july 5-9 (tuesday-saturday) (morning/afternoon)
july 11-15 (morning/afternoon)
july 18-22 (morning/afternoon)
august 1-5 (morning/afternoon)
august 8-12 (morning/afternoon)
more details on the registration process will be coming soon.
pricing will be done the same way, by time slot not by amount of children. this year it will be $80 per 30 minutes of lessons. you can register to have up to 3 kids in the pool at a time.

Good morning everyone! As mentioned earlier, swimming lessons will be operating at a limited capacity this year. Unfortunately, this means that I am unable to accommodate everyone that is interested in swimming lessons this season. If I have not reached out to you privately, that means, at this time, I am unable to offer a spot for your children. There is a possibility that more spots will open up later on, but this is not guaranteed. I am very sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope to return back to normal next year. Thank you for your continued support and I wish you all a happy and healthy summer!

IMPORTANT: COVID-19 Guidelines for the 2020 Season
1) I will get tested for COVID-19 before lessons start
2) I will be cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces at least once daily
3) I will be frequently washing my hands for at least 20 seconds, and I encourage everyone to do the same
4) I will be providing hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol and lysol wipes at the gate when you enter the pool area
5) I encourage everyone to stay home fro lessons if they or their child is sick, even if it's just the "sniffles"
6) I am making goggles for children mandatory this year
Please note this quote from the CDC: "there is no evidence that the virus which causes COVID-19 can be spread through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g. with chlorine or bromine) of pools and hot tubs should inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19"

guess what? registration opens in just ONE WEEK on may 8! i’m super excited to get this year of swimming lessons started.
there are a couple of things to note, so please read carefully.
registration is done on a first come first serve basis, so the earlier you email on may 8, the better chance you have of getting the week and time you want
registration is done through email only. my email is [email protected]
the following weeks will be available for registration. both morning and afternoon sessions will be open
June 22-26
June 29-July 3
July 6-10
July 13-17
July 27-31
August 4-8
August 10-14
when you email to register, please include:
children’s names and levels they will be in this year
preferred week and preferred time (morning/afternoon)
pricing will be the same as last year
$75 for one week (five days) of 30 minute lessons
$150 for one week (five days) of one hour lessons
please remember that this fee is TOTAL, not per child
lastly, i will not be asking for any money (no deposits) until June 5. i would also like to be completely cashless this year. more details about payments will come closer to June 5

hey everyone! I hope you are all finding some peace and calmness in these uncertain times! I know many of you probably have a lot on your mind with this virus, and perhaps swimming lessons is one of the last things on your mind. for me, I am very excited for this year of swimming lessons to begin, and to teach all of the wonderful kids! as of right now, I still plan to open registration on may 8, because the hope is that by then we will have a better understanding of how long this state of emergency will last, and when some of the restrictions are going to be lifted. swimming lessons aren't supposed to start for 9 weeks yet, so that leaves plenty of time for things to settle down. I will still be asking for a $10 deposit when you register, but in the event that lessons have to be cancelled, you will get a full refund. if you have any further questions, feel free to dm or email me at [email protected]

It looks pretty dismal outside today but I have exciting news to make the day a bit better....hopefully! It's time to start thinking about swimming lessons! The following will be available for registration on MAY 8:
June 22-26 (morning/afternoon)
July 6-10 (morning/afternoon)
July 13-17 (morning/afternoon)
July 27-31 (morning/afternoon)
August 3-7 (morning/afternoon)
August 10-14 (morning/afternoon)
*possibly* August 17-22 (morning)
Pricing will be the same as last year:
$75 per session (which is 5 days of 30 minute lessons)
1 hour lessons will be available for levels 4+ or ages 10+ and they will be $150 per session (5 days of 1 hour lessons)
There will be a maximum of 3 kids per session
Again, the price is per time slot, not per child, so keep that in mind

Hey everyone! It's that time of year again to start thinking about swimming lessons for this summer. I wanted to post this little reminder that I will be doing swimming lessons again this year, and registration will open MAY 8! So mark that on your calendars, because spots fill up fast.
