The Annual CATCH THE FRY Salmon Tournament is coming up on Sat Sept 5.
We often get asked where the tournament name came from.
In 2009 the Strait Line Anglers Club & The St. Catharines Game & Fish Association partnered together with their various volunteers & sponsors to start a Chinook Pen Stocking/Imprinting Project in Port Dalhousie.
In the Spring’s of 2009-2011, what was known as the "Feed The Fry" Tournaments were held in order to help promote & raise money to get the projects up & running & raises money to feed the Salmon fry that were in the pens.
In the Fall of 2012, the tournament was switched to the fall to what is now known as the "Catch The Fry". With the project now successfully thriving, the purpose of this tournament is to celebrate the return of the mature salmon and to recognize the volunteers and work that goes into this project each year.
