Volunteers registering in person on September 29 will be eligible for the 25% in-person registration discount.

📍 Come see us at the Wing Welcome REXPO!
We’ll have a booth set up at the Community Centre on Saturday, September 19. Stop by, ask us any questions you may have about the upcoming season, and pick up some swag for the kids! 🎉

🏒 Volunteer Coaches Needed!
We are always looking for volunteer coaches, especially for our U7 group. If you’re willing to step on the ice, help out, and be part of a great season for the kids, please send us a message!

🏒 BIG NEWS FROM GREENWOOD REC HOCKEY CLUB! 🏒

We’re excited to announce a NEW REDUCED REGISTRATION RATE for the upcoming season!

💥 NEW RATE: from $287 → NOW $250 for members with a PSP Plan

For families who do not currently have a PSP Plan, the registration cost will be $250 plus the applicable PSP Plan fee.

Our goal is to continue offering families a fun, affordable, community-focused hockey program. We’re looking forward to another great season on the ice! 🥅🏒

🙋 WE’RE STILL LOOKING FOR COACHING VOLUNTEERS!
Our club relies on volunteers to make each season possible, and we’d love to have you join our team!
If you’re interested in coaching or helping with one of our teams, please reach out. Coaching volunteers who commit their time for the season will receive a 25% discount on their membership, as well as a Letter of Appreciation recognizing their volunteer contribution.

No matter your level of experience, we encourage you to get involved!

🏒 GREENWOOD RECREATIONAL HOCKEY — 2026-2027 SEASON UPDATE! 🏒

We’re excited to share some important information about our upcoming hockey season! 🎉

📍 Location: Middleton Arena
📅 All ice times will be on Saturdays

Weekly Ice Times:
🏒 U7 Beginner (no skating experience) — 8:15–9:15 AM
🏒 U7 Advanced — 9:30–10:30 AM
🏒 U9 — 10:45–11:45 AM
🏒 U11–U18 — 12:00–1:00 PM

Each group will receive 17 ice sessions throughout the season.

📆 Season Start: Our official start date will be announced soon, but we are currently anticipating an October start.

💰 Registration Fees

PSP Plan Members: $287 + tax
Non-PSP Plan Members: $350 + tax

📝 REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 AT 9:00 AM!

Registration will be available online or in person at the Community Centre.

🏒 WE NEED COACHES!

🏒 2026–2027 Recreational Hockey Club Executive Election Results 🏒

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in this year’s Executive Election! With 20 responses received, we’re pleased to announce your elected executive for the 2026–2027 season:

🏒 President: Matthew Mayne — 90% in favour

🏒 Hockey Operations: Steven Saxton — 100%
in favour

🏒 Treasurer: Justin McKinney — 95% in favour

🏒 Secretary: Sophie Mayne — 90% in favour

Congratulations to our elected executive committee, and thank you to everyone who participated in the voting process!

📣 We still have two vacant positions:
• Vice President
• Equipment Manager

Members! Reminder to check your emails to submit your vote for this years general election. We had 72 membership registrations last year and we currently only have 14 responses.

Our executive volunteers take their time to ensure this club runs for our military families and community, and we are only asking for a few minutes to cast your vote.

Voting ends tomorrow at 1700. If you are having trouble locating the email or need more information don’t hesitate to reach out!

📣 Greenwood Recreational Hockey – Executive Voting

Following our AGM, we need our club members to help officially elect the 2026–2027 Executive Committee.

As quorum was not reached at the AGM, a membership vote is required to finalize the nominated Executive members.

🗳️ Voting closes EOD Wednesday, August 26!

📧 Check your email for the voting link.

It will be sent to known club members based on previous years’ registrations.

We also have two positions still open:

🏒 Equipment Manager

If you’re interested in either position, you can let us know through the voting form.

Reminder — AGM Tonight! 🏒

Just a reminder that the Greenwood Rec Hockey AGM is happening tonight at 6:00 PM at the Greenwood Community Centre.

We’ll be discussing plans for the upcoming season, including our ice times, registration, and how the club will operate this year with the closure of the Greenwood Gardens.

🚨 Equipment Swap Update 🚨

Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold the equipment swap from 5–6 PM this Thursday as originally planned.

Due to ongoing work at the Greenwood Gardens, we are currently unable to access our stored hockey equipment. We will reschedule the equipment swap once we are given safe access to the equipment.

The AGM will still go ahead as planned from 6–7 PM at the Greenwood Community Centre.

Sorry for the change of plans, and thank you for your understanding. We’ll provide an update on the equipment swap as soon as we have more information.
