As the summer starts to wind down, we are approaching our last couple of swimming lessons! Session #5 starts on Monday, and then we have Session #6, which is our final session, running from August 15th - 19th.

Due to a lack of participants in a few of the levels for session #5 (Aug 8-12), we have decided to only run the following:
Sea Turtle
Sea Otter
Salamander
Crocodile
SK 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8

As these remaining classes are getting quite full, registration for them will close Saturday.

Hi everyone,

We are looking into running a Bronze Star camp here at the Greenwood Pool before the end of the summer. This camp provides excellent preparation for success in the Bronze Medallion/Bronze Cross camps, which are the first steps to becoming a lifeguard!
Candidates will learn CPR and develop the lifesaving skills needed to be their own lifeguard
There is no minimum age, nor any pre-requisites for this course, but we do recommend that anybody wanting to participate has completed their Red Cross Swim Kids level 10 or is capable of performing the skills evaluated at that level

A few examples of the skills that will be taught and evaluated in this course include:

- A 3 minute self-support, 1 minute out of those 3 minutes is done with a 10-lb object
- Rescue an unconscious, non-breathing victim in deep water
- Demonstrate a 25m head-up approach into a feet-first surface dive to retrieve an object

Library Pool Reading Days: Wednesdays from 12:30-2 and Fridays 10:30-12. Someone from the Greenwood Public Library will be coming to the pool to read stories and have books available for kids to read in the park beside the pool!

Just a friendly reminder for everyone registering their children for lessons: the pool will contact you the weekend prior (Saturday or Sunday) to your lesson start date. We can't make a schedule too far in advance as things change so much. If we only have one child enrolled in a level we will not offer it or merge that level with another one if possible which changes the times! Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding!

Hey guys!

We are going to open the pool June 30th, 2:00pm-7:00pm

July 1st is our Canada Day BBQ! Come to the pool between 12:00pm and 2:00pm to cool off, have lunch and celebrate with staff.

Starting July 1st we will have our regular summer hours for public swimming which is 12:00pm-7:00pm

Bronze Medallion/Cross Combo Camp will be running July 2nd-6th. This lifesaving camp combines the Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross courses into one action packed program. These courses also count towards graduation credits! Upon completion you will be qualified to work as a jr.lifeguard! Call the pool to register! This is a great opportunity for summer employment.

We will be running 6 sets of lessons this summer!
Lesson set #1 begins July 4th
Lesson set #2 begins July 11th
Lesson set #3 begins July 18th
Lesson set #4 begins July 25th *
Lesson set #5 begins August 8th
Lesson set #6 beings August 15th*

Swim club will be running two days a week this summer, Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30-9:30am. This year we want to include anyone who enjoys swimming, becoming stronger and who wants to improve their physical and mental fitness. Swimming is a great cross training sport, and a great way to stay active with the entire family! Children must have successfully completed Red Cross Swim Kids level 4 OR be able to demonstrate requirements.

We will be running a water aerobics class this year in the evenings! If you want a great workout, come check it out! Time and days to be announced at a later date.
