Sudbury Canoe Club Ontario Located on Lake Ramsey, the SCC offers instruction and recreational/competitive activities for a variety of paddle sports at all levels, for all ages.

Whether you’re a complete novice, or an experienced paddler, out for a leisurely afternoon or a high intensity training session, the SCC has you covered. We offer access to equipment in several disciplines including Sea Kayaking, Flat Water Canoeing, Outrigger Canoeing, Sprint Paddling, Stand-up Paddleboarding, Dragon Boating, Windsurfing, White Water Paddling and Adaptive Paddling. Lessons are available in each discipline at minimal or no cost for members. Since 1902, the SCC has been the go-to destination for recreational and competitive paddling in Sudbury, and we are excited for you to become a part of our rich history. The goal of the Sudbury Canoe Club’s programs is to teach safe practices, reinforce personal skills, build self-confidence, develop individual excellence and to demonstrate the importance of a healthy and active life style. There are a number of Sudbury Canoe Club programs that are led by friendly, dependable, knowledgeable and experienced staff:

What a race for Team SCC at the 2026 CKC Sprint National Championships in Ottawa! 💙🛶

Evan and Mateo Volpini, Cole Macey and Julien Turpin just raced their Junior Men’s K4 500m and powered their way to a 3RD PLACE finish — earning themselves a spot in the A FINAL! 🚀💥

What an incredible showing from this crew! The speed, teamwork and determination were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder. 👏🔥

The racing continues at the CKO Sprint: Ontario Championships in Ottawa, and Team SCC has another result to celebrate! 💙🛶

U18 MEN’S K2 500M — FINAL B

🥇 1ST PLACE — Julien Turpin & Oleksiy Buzanov!

What a race! Julien and Oleksiy powered their way to the win in the B Final, delivering a huge performance on the water! 🔥💪

🔥🛶 TEAM SCC IS OFF TO A FAST START IN OTTAWA! 🛶🔥

The CKO Sprint Ontario Championships are underway, and our SCC athletes came out ready to race this morning! 💙⚡️

In the 500m prelims:

🔥 Evan Volpini — 2nd ➡️ A FINAL
🔥 Julien Turpin — 2nd ➡️ A FINAL
🔥 Mateo Volpini — 5th ➡️ B FINAL

🎥 Check out Julien powering through the final stretch! He dug deep, found another gear and powered through to the line, taking 2nd and earning his spot in the A Final! 🔥💪

💙🛶 LOTS TO CELEBRATE AT SCC! 🌊☀️

There’s lots happening at the Sudbury Canoe Club right now — and our athletes are keeping the excitement going!

🔥 FIRST UP: PROVINCIALS THIS WEEKEND!
Our Sprint Team is back on the water this weekend for Provincials, and we’ll be cheering them on every stroke of the way!

🏆 THEN IT’S OFF TO NATIONALS!
Seven SCC athletes have qualified for Nationals in Ottawa later this month! It’s been an incredible season of hard work, determination and some amazing racing. We couldn’t be prouder of this group. 💪💙

🤠 COUNTRY PADDLE = SUCH A GREAT NIGHT
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Country Paddle! Beautiful weather, a great evening on Lake Ramsey, music, dancing and lots of laughs made it a night to remember.

It was SCC at its best — great people, time on the water and a community that knows how to have fun!

🍂 SUMMER ISN’T OVER YET!
There’s still plenty of paddling ahead, and as Lake Ramsey begins to take on its fall colours, some of the most beautiful days of the season are still to come.
