That’s a wrap on the 2026 swimming season! Thank you to all my clients for making this happen. It was a pleasure teaching your children water safety, comfort, and helping them be stronger swimmers. Seeing them achieve their goals and overcome their fears made me look forward to each and every lesson. Next season is uncertain, so stay tuned!

March safety tip is bathing suit colour! The bright your child, the more visible and safe they are! In crowded spring break pools, it’s easy to not notice if a child is in distress. Having them in a bright bathing suit can make it easier for you, or a lifeguard, to make sure they’re staying safe and having fun!

Registration for this summer is still open! If you, a friend or family member has a pool I’ll confidently come to you and provide lessons for your child(ren) this summer!

Welcome to February! This month’s safety tip is to always remind your child to never swim alone! Whether your child is strong enough that a parent is watching from the pool side, or in the water helping, swimming should never be done alone!

Choosing between private and semi-private lessons can feel overwhelming.

Private lessons are ideal for children who benefit from full individual attention or are new, anxious, or working on specific skills. Semi-private lessons are a great option for siblings or friends who thrive learning together while still receiving focused instruction. Regardless, lessons are structured, intentional, and centered on helping kids feel capable and safe in the water!

Happy January! I hope everyone had a safe holiday season 😊. We’re starting monthly water safety tips this year to help bring some added safety into your home!

Floating is a great goal for your child to achieve, and is the stepping stone for other key swimming skills like kicking without an aid! We practice floating early and often because it builds confidence, body awareness, and safety. Whether your child is resting or regaining calm, floating gives them time and control!

That’s a wrap for another swim season with Lainna’s Swimming Stars! This summer was filled with lessons, learning, and fun experiences! It was my pleasure to provide swimming lessons to many children in Sudbury to help them build confidence and safety in the water!

As some of you may know, we are selling our house and I will no longer have a pool next summer. Therefore, lessons in 2026 will be STRICTLY OFFSITE. If you, a friend, or family member has a pool, I’ll come to you and provide these swimming lessons in an enviornment that is convient for you and comfortable for your child(ren). Have a friend or family member? Invite their kids to join the lesson too! For more info, contact me through social media or at 705-698-8548. Pre-registration for Offsite Swimming Lessons 2026 will open this fall.

I know that this change will be the end of lessons with me for many of you, so I would like to thank everyone who has participated in these lessons the past 3 years for the experiences and happiness that teaching your kids has brought me. It was wonderful seeing them progress towards and achieve their goals, and I’ll always be grateful for their big smiles after doing something hard!
