Troop MMA, located in Sudbury, ON, is home to UFC fighter Mitch Gagnon and the highest ranking BJJ black belt in Northern Ontario, Professor Richard Nancoo. We offer BJJ, Self Defense, Kickboxing, MMA, Youth Programs as well as Women's-only classes. Mitch is a Canadian mixed martial artist currently competing in the Bantamweight division of the UFC. He began training in 2006 and made his professional MMA debut in September 2008. He fought exclusively in his native Canada and amassed a record of 8-1 before joining the UFC. Some of Gagnon's accomplishments in the UFC include winning the 'Fight Of The Night' as well as 'Submission Of The Night.' Mitch has worked with one of the best kick-boxers in the world for years. He is able to deliver a good quality kick-boxing program here in Sudbury. This program is overseen by Kickboxing coach Joseph Vattellini (Glory Welterweight Champion). Richard Nancoo, who is Mitch's business partner, has been competing in mixed martial arts for over 20 years. He is a BJJ professor and has fought some of the best fighters in the world like Mark Hominick and Miguel Torres. He brings a whole wealth of knowledge to the club.
