Sometimes, the most important part of a playground is a quiet place to pause. 🌿
At Jean Hanson Public School, CRCS Recreation was proud to include a wooden teepee structure, creating a peaceful retreat where students can step away from the excitement of the playground, recharge, and reconnect.

With a large Indigenous student population, we wanted to create a play space that not only supports student well-being but also embraces culture and creates opportunities for learning, gathering, and connection. Whether it's a moment for quiet reflection, conversation with friends, or simply a break from the noise, this space was thoughtfully designed with every child in mind.

And the story doesn't end there… 🎨

Stay tuned as local Indigenous artist Acadia Solomon transforms the teepee with a custom mural, adding another layer of cultural significance and storytelling to this special gathering place.

Because the best play spaces celebrate community, honour culture, and create room for every child to belong.
