Congratulations to Simoné T, and Mercia T. on their performances at the Canadian Youth Short Track Championships East! Thank you Darthmouth Crossing Speed Skating Club, Speed Skating Nova Scotia and Speed Skating Canada for hosting!

In the Girls 12Y, Simoné T. finished 5th in the 400m and 800m Finals A, and 7th overall. 🎉

In the Girls 13Y, Mercia T. raced to PBs in all her distances! 🎉

This was the final competition of our season. The Sprinters have raced in over 20 Regional, Provincial, Elite and National Meets this season. Goals were set, met and surpassed!

Enjoy the off-season, Sprinters, and see you at the rink in August for skate fittings!

Congratulations, Simoné T. (Girls, 12Y) and Mercia T. (Girls, 13Y) for your selection to Team Ontario for the Canadian Youth Short Track Speed Skating Championships - East! Simoné and Mercia will be competing against the top skaters from eastern Canada in Darthmouth, N.S. this weekend.

Last week, Christina had the honour of meeting the participants of the Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club and presenting them with a cheque for $16,971, representing the funds they raised through Charitable Gaming at Delta Bingo & Gaming Val Caron over the past year.

The Sudbury Sprinters provide opportunities for skaters of all ages and skill levels to learn and develop their speed skating abilities in a fun and supportive environment. Through their programs, athletes build confidence, improve their skills, and have opportunities to compete in speed skating meets across Ontario while setting personal goals and challenging their best times.

Funds raised through Charitable Gaming help support important aspects of their program such as equipment, ice time, training opportunities, and travel to competitions, ensuring that local athletes can continue to grow in the sport and represent our community.

Charitable Gaming funds are able to support so many meaningful groups in our community, including many local sports organizations that help keep youth active and engaged.
