The Sirens and Centaurs took on St. Albert this weekend, and once again here's your completely unbiased and highly professional recap:

The Sirens came out firing and apparently took the concept of "home field advantage" personally. Final score: Sirens 47 – St. Albert 10.

The ladies were scoring tries for fun, with Elise crossing the line three times because apparently one try just wasn't enough. Larry followed her up knocking over three conversions and making it look easy.

The defense was disciplined too β€” zero high tackles. That's right. Not a single one. We don't know if that's growth, maturity, or just a statistical anomaly, but we'll take it.

There were also some memorable moments:
Sav decided to go for a run, but her hamstring filed a formal complaint halfway through.
Kieran got punched by Ferris. Rugby is a family sport.

Meanwhile, the Centaurs found themselves in a points-for-everyone kind of game. Final score to be confirmed: St. Albert 56 – Centaurs 32.

Despite the loss, there was no shortage of entertainment.

Kane spent the game learning how to tackle from James. Unfortunately, James may not be the ideal instructor and using your head is still not the way to tackle.
Colin was somehow snubbed from MVP consideration even tho he was a kicking king. We have launched an investigation.
Dom and Logan embraced their roles as waterboys and performed admirably. Hydration levels were elite.
And the moment of the match: Pad Thai's try-scoring stanky leg. The try was good. The move before the line was better. Future generations will study the footage.

Overall Verdict:

πŸ‰ Sirens: 47-10 victory, tries everywhere, defense locked in.

πŸ‰ Centaurs: 56-32 loss, but scored plenty and supplied most of the comedy.

πŸ† Highlight of the day: Pad Thai's stanky leg coupled with Sav’s lack of hamstring.

🀷 Most injuries: Honestly both teams had ice packs by the end (or freezes)

Final tally:
1 punch, 1 questionable tackling clinic, 1 hamstring betrayal, countless laughs, and a whole lot of rugby.

Exactly how a Grande Prairie Rugby Club weekend should be. πŸ»πŸ‰

πŸ‰ DOUBLEHEADER WEEKEND πŸ‰

πŸ“ Macklin Field
πŸ“… Saturday, June 13

Two games. One field. Zero excuses. 😏

The Sirens kick things off at 1:00 PM, followed by the Centaurs at 3:00 PM, as both teams take on Saint Albert. Expect big hits, fast runs, and at least a few people questioning their life choices, especially in the sweaty scrum.

The beer tent will be stocked, so come cheer loudly and hydrate responsibly. 🍻

πŸ‘•πŸ€ͺ POST-MATCH THEME: AWKWARD / WEIRD SHIRT SWAP

The final whistle is just the beginning.

Dig deep into your closet and bring that shirt you've been told to "never wear in public again." The uglier, weirder, and more confusing, the better. This is your moment.

The Rules:

πŸ”Ή Bring your most awkward shirt
πŸ”Ή Swap it with another player or supporter
πŸ”Ή Wear your new fashion disaster for the rest of the night
πŸ”Ή Own it with confidence (or at least pretend to)

Extra bragging rights for shirts that make strangers laugh, friends cringe, or grandparents shake their heads. Bonus points if someone asks, "Where on earth did you get that?"πŸ˜‚

πŸ‘• Bad decisions.
πŸ‰ Good rugby.
🍻 Great company.

See you at Macklin Field for a day of competition, laughs, and fashion crimes that deserve a red card.

The Sirens and the Centaurs put on a proper rugby rollercoaster this weekend, so here’s your highly scientific recap:

The Sirens marched into the game and said β€œscoreboard or nothing.” Final result: Sirens 20 – Leduc 0.
That’s right – the defense was tighter than the men's post-game dresses. Tries were flying, tackles were crunching, and a few ladies laced up for their first-ever game, discovered what a real ruck feels like, and still came up grinning.

On the other side of the pitch, the men’s side took a 22–12 loss but refused to go quietly. Two different players crossed the whitewash for tries, spreading the glory around like grass stains and tape. We did get one broken nose but James informed us its not his first time.

So:
β€’ Sirens: dominant shutout, 20–0, queens of 10-a-side.
β€’ Men: 22–12 loss, but did not give up, and plenty of β€œlearning experiences” (don't use your face to break through the line)

Overall verdict:
Scoreboard split, spirits high, bodies sore, short dresses, and one too many moustaches. Exactly how a club weekend should be.
