I used to HATE DMs. š
Sliding into someoneās inbox felt awkward, pushy, and icky. Every message I sent made me worry:
āAm I annoying them? Am I coming off desperate? Ugh, I hate this.ā
And asking for the sale? Forget it. That was pure anxiety.
Then something changed. š”
I realized selling doesnāt have to feel pushy. It doesnāt have to be scary.
I started doing three things differently:
1ļøā£ Listening instead of pitching.
2ļøā£ Responding with intention instead of scripts.
3ļøā£ Letting my leads lead the conversation.
And suddenly⦠the impossible became normal.
Hereās a story that blew my mind.
I was DMing a client who was scared to invest. She told me:
"I donāt understand why Iām doing this, but I feel like you can help me, and Iām going to do it."
She paid $750 in full.
But hereās the kicker⦠during the same conversation, she asked about upgrading her package. š„
Her total investment jumped to $1,200, which she paid the following month!
And this? Itās not a one-time thing.
After I learned how to sell without being pushy, letting my leads guide the conversation, moments like this became regular occurrences.
The lesson:
Selling in DMs doesnāt have to feel icky.
ā
Listen with care.
ā
Respond with intention.
ā
Let your leads guide the conversation.
When you do this, sales happen naturally. People are drawn to work with you because they feel understood. Because the next step feels rightānot forced.
And hereās the secret sauce: FAITH. š
Trust that God is guiding these conversations. Trust that Heās already planting seeds in hearts before you even send a message.
When I stopped trying to āmakeā a sale happen and leaned on Godās guidance, DMs became not just a marketing toolāthey became a way to serve, grow, and fulfill purpose.
