POSTPONED - Grande Prairie, we are sorry to share that due to extreme weather conditions in the forecast, the City of Grande Prairie Canada Day fireworks display and reverse parade for Wednesday, July 1 been postponed to Saturday.

On Saturday, the parade route remains the same and will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the fireworks display will occur at 11:45 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank everyone for their understanding.

Woo Hoo!! 💦

Grande Prairie, we're excited to share - the Outdoor Pool opens for the season on July 2!

To ensure safe and sanitary use of the facility during the COVID-19 pandemic, groups of 20 may rent the facility for their cohort for 45-minute slots Monday to Thursday, or hour-long slots Friday to Saturday.

Public swim is not available at this time.

We are pleased to announce we are continuing to run our Easter Eggstravaganza Colouring Contest so we can still find ways to celebrate Easter together as a community while we all practice social distancing! The contest is open to children and youth ages 2-12 years old and runs until April 12! Winners will be randomly selected for some great prizes from Eastlink Centre and Pizza Hut.

Great addition to Muskoseepi Park! 🏒 🥅 ⛸

We are excited to announce we are bringing a new, designated hockey area to Muskoseepi Park!

This new community project maximizes the existing space within Muskoseepi Park to foster recreation and wellness opportunities year-round. The project is made possible by a sponsorship from Aquatera Utilities Inc.

The new ice surface will be located southwest of 106 Street and 112 Avenue (south of the Kayak Club) within the park. It is another great way we are maximizing the existing space within Muskoseepi Park to foster recreation and wellness opportunities year-round.

Lawn Bowling Come and enjoy the game of Lawn Bowling. Located in Muskoseepi Park, the Lawn Bowling facility offers a sheltered building and a large, open area for this traditional game. The bowling green is open 7 days a week, as long as the pavilion is open. Keys for the facility can be signed out....

Happy Halloween from all of us at the City of Grande Prairie!

Our friendly RCMP have some tips and tricks for how to keep little ghouls and goblins safe while trick or treating!

• wear bright costumes, reflective tape, glow sticks or carry a flashlight
• make sure costumes will not cause tripping, and that your child can clearly see out of a mask
• follow all regular pedestrian rules - cross the road at marked crosswalks, or well-lit corners only
• stay with a trusted adult, or travel in groups - never trick-or-treat unsupervised
• never enter a strangers home or vehicle
• do not eat treats until a trusted adult has inspected them
