After almost 10 years of organizing the Ski Swap and a number of years of the Bike Swap we are moving on and focussing on our simpler, more fun oriented, events. We have been chatting to a few groups about taking over the summer and winter swaps and we know it will be in good hands next year. Unfortunately the stars didn't align for it to happen this year.
We want to thank the thousands of people who have impatiently waited at the doors and raced to find their new treasures, those who show up with a beverage and just hang out and enjoy the scene, the businesses who year after year bought a booth and joined in on the chaos, the sponsors who made it possible, and everyone who had some part in feeding us during those marathon weekends.
You made it what it was. It was a great ride. From the giant boot sale in Brady's front yard, through -25C temps at the unfortunate Spirit Square version, a brief PBR sponsorship and over 1 million* happy customers.
An especially big thanks goes out to the volunteers who really made it happen. It may have been a Gents event but those extra volunteers who showed up once, or every single year, often until the wee hours, were the real champions.
The Gents aren't going anywhere, we are just throwing a stick in the spokes to mix things up. Stay tuned for our other events and thanks for supporting our cause!
