Many years ago, magic assembled a sport of purity, deep in the heart of the Rocky, Purcell and Selkirk Mountains. In the summer, cool winds caressed miles of spectacular ridges, and alpine meadows were carpeted with wild flowers. In the winter, the snow was found to be drier and deeper than anywhere else. History records this as a place discovered by those bent on adventure and seeking storied treasures. Today, our treasures are stories of discovery; discovering our vibrancy, and discovering one's self and a personal connection to our incredible natural surroundings.

A word from Rob, our Trail Crew Leader 🛠️⛰️

That’s a wrap on summer work for our Trail Crew! With their last day on October 15, the team has spent the season maintaining trails, clearing overgrowth, and brushing terrain to get the mountain ready for winter.

A lot of work goes on behind the scenes before the snow arrives, and brushing is a big part of making sure the mountain is ready for the season ahead.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
A Water Quality Advisory is in effect for the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Drinking Water System

Date Issued: October 3 2026
Cause: Failed bacteria sample (Total Coliform=1)
Area: Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Village

ACTION BEING TAKEN BY KHMUC:
Kicking Horse Mountain Utility Corp. (KHMUC) is currently:
• Investigating the cause of the issue.
• Collecting additional water quality samples.
• Disinfecting and flushing the water system as required.
• Working with Interior Health to restore normal water quality.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CONSUMERS:
• The water remains safe for most users.
• Persons with compromised immune systems, the elderly, infants, and those seeking additional precaution may wish to boil water prior to drinking, preparing beverages, making ice, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, or food preparation.
• Alternatively, use bottled water or another approved potable water source.
DURATION OF THIS NOTICE:
This Water Quality Advisory remains in effect until officially rescinded by Interior Health and Kicking Horse Mountain Utility Corp.

Guest Services will be open **10 AM–2 PM** on the following dates:

- October 1–5
*Closed October 4 due to a scheduled power outage*

- October 8–11

- October 14–16

The Fall Season Pass Sale ends October 16, so be sure to grab your pass before the sale wraps up.
